Love my 336 in .35 Remington. That 200 grain bullet does wonders for me out to 150 yards, not to mention it's one of the best/most popular brush guns out there. People always say it's underpowered. But just ask all the good ol' boys and dead deer and dead hogs across the South about that one.

The older ones are indeed nicer as mentioned if you can find one in tight condition.

I just picked this up a few days ago. 1969 Marlin 336 in 30-30, its the 100yr anniversary model. The wood is in excellent shape and the bluing is fine but shows wear at 43yrs old. I paid $269 which I consider myself very lucky. Its pre-safety and runs like a champ. I could probably sell it for more but I love this gun and plan to hunt with it next season.

I showed it to a buddy who has the same but in .35 Rem and he was amazed at the condition of the wood. This was not a safe queen but the previous owner took very good care of it. Really the only this that "needs" refinishing is the lever. I've been looking for months and when I found this one I felt like I won the lottery! Funny how a $269 gun can make you feel like that. :)
