Sweet! Any tips or suggestions? I’m going to contact one of the local fab companies to get mine burned on hopefully in the next few weeks.

    Thanks for the quick response!

To be clear, I have replaced both Lower control arms with Total chaos ones, the LCAs themselves certainly aren't bent, it is the LCA mounts on the frame that are bent backwards. I had the frame inspected and is it 100% straight, but the bent lower control arm mounts are not allowing my alignment to be 100% in spec. Im just trying to figure out the procedure for aligning them before I weld these in. I thought when I first read your post you had a similar situation but I went and re-read and looks like you just bent the tabs and not the entire flange. In any case Ill be ordering a set and it looks like it should help me get them aligned and not run into the issue again.

    Thanks!

Nope, didn’t remove anything. I just welded little bits at a time and bounced around to different areas. I had a water spray bottle handy and cooled it right away after each weld.

If I were to do it again I’d probably reserve more time and remove the LCA’s. With everything installed it’s really tight in there and the big gun on my Miller 252 couldn’t reach everything. Other than that just take your time prepping the weld areas and fitting the parts together. I loosened a couple of my LCA bolts and straightened out some cam tabs that were already bent.
Solid product, good job @BigMike

I am getting mine done next week at a friends house. We are going to remove the LCAs. Will post pics when it's completed.

    Meant to ask..

LCA skids? That's my next concern after the LCA bushings.

I have a set of BAMF skids, already been under there, going to notch them a bit, just got confirmation from my friend. Won't be till next Saturday for me. Was hoping to get this done sooner.

We are going to use a Plama cutter since BAMF skids are so thick. I will take detailed photos.

No LCA skids on my truck. I did have to trim my front skid a touch but no biggie.

In the process right now. As Big Mike said, you can do it with the arms on the truck. Wrapped CV, steering rack boots and using water to keep bushings cool. Stitch welding a little at a time. Will post more soon.

Done, glad I did this. What an awesome product. We took our time, measured twice or more and burned them in. Bushings never got overheated. Wet rag trick was a great idea. Thank you Big Mike.

Amazing product. Thanks for turning me on to this in another thread, Mully. Addresses one weakness that has left me scratching my head and wondering what Toyota engineers were thinking these last 24 years. Looks like I missed the initial buy but $129 still seems reasonable and adding this to the to-do list.

No problem, I marked where they needed to be welded, cleaned up the burn area and went to town, jumped from brace to brace so not to damage bushings. Used wet rags to keep them cool. Good luck.

Just some Walmart cheap paint. Going to paint up the entire subframe with this now.
