Jack the truck up and wiggle your front tires to see if a wheel bearing is bad. Wiggle at 12 and 6 o clock, if theres movement its a bad wheel bearing.
For the needle bearing switch into 4wd when you hear the noise and if it goes away then thats it.

Tried the 4wd one. Still there. It went away when I put it in neutral

How many miles on your truck? Possibly a driveline issue then. When putting it in neutral it takes the pressure off your driveline carrier bearing and u joints which will make it stop squeaking.

13,300 or so. It's not so much a squeak as it is a grind

Could be diff.. If it goes away when in neutral then it's something in the driveline for sure.. At least I would think. When I had bad u joints the squeak would go away when I put it in neutral as well.

Well I figured out the culprit

    image.jpg

Went away and two days later it started again. Now the exhaust is rubbing on the last skid. So I'm going to drop the skid till I can get the exhaust done so there's more space and won't rub. Also got a squeak up front from suspension so going to recheck and retorque bolts tomorrow

I gave up on finding squeaks a long time ago. Just make sure the uniballs are clean, bushings are lubed and you're set for the most part haha

Haven't been on here in a while. Started what I hope to be my last year in grad school Monday. And since I couldn't make it on a wheeling trip last weekend I decided to wash my truck.

Since I now have to save money for bigger spending I've been getting all the stuff installed I've been meaning to. Huge thanks to @geekhouse23 for helping me. Finally put in the top plate spacers (1/2" pass and 3/4" driver for the lean) it rides the same, no issues thus far. Tightened up all the bolts after a few miles on it and it finally sits up and level and don't have to worry about the coils because the preload is the same. For now this is not the best option but it has helped a lot.

Pelfreybilt bumper will be ordered for Black Friday. Then saving up for my winch and hope to throw the rear bumper on next year along with some bushwhackers. Going to try and talk to some dealers to do a group buy for the bushwhackers. Also will hopefully do the Dirt King upper and lower control arm group buys next year again.

Also have to look for. 42-47" LED bar for the rear "FU" bar.....I mean back up bar bc I have tinted windows.....yeaaaaa

So question on this subject. I was thinking of putting a 1/4 inch HS top plate on my passenger and a 1/2 on my driver side to fix my lean. I believe my fox 2.5 extra trv are at the level that the come from factory out or Close and my front end is still way lower than my rear with Dakar and I want to put on that shackle flip kit that says it will add 1/2 inch of lift possibly http://archivegarage.com/products/premiumtacomasfk (hopefully going to take out the overload spring in the dakars cause they are ROUGH off road) . Is it really that bad of an idea to do this or should I just try and max out my springs?

Putting a top plate spacer defeats the purpose of having fully adjustable coil overs. Crank up your coil overs an inch or so, take out the second overload and the third leaf and see how it sits. Are you planning on relocating the rear shocks?
