I like it, but it seems to look almost identical to the Prinsu rack...

I like it! Does it mount up to the factory location? Any idea on weight?

Yeah I have front shrouds to fit front light bars. Still working on the sides. Leaning towards having an option for the buyer to add cut outs for flush mount pods if they desire.

Yes it mounts to the factory 10 mount holes. Still working on finding max strength. It's made of 3/16" 5052

Yeah, that's been one of the hardest obstacles honestly.. That was my just my first prototype. I have plans to make some alterations already and I'm sure I'll come across more before the final product.

I love the look as it closely resembles the prinsu, which is what I want. Depending on pricing and shipping i could be interested. I would like it to be a little more different from prinsu though. Not sure how, but it seems like a direct ripoff right now. Not knocking the work or product, just not seeing any improvements or variation. With that being said i would rather support prinsu for their design. I'm following because i think it will be a great product i would be interested in once it is yours.

    This.

Again, no knock to your skills, but for how long the prinsu has been out and how many people run them etc (I am one of the OG prinsu owners) you will have a lot of flack on TW. This might even lead to flack from the original designer and, now, CBI.

IMHO, it's one thing to show your work and claim that you can "DIY" something that is so well known, and another to be completely aware that a product already exists and rip it off and "claim" that it has been an obstacle the whole time. To me, it just seems ripped off.

He's not claiming to have made something unique here. He knows it looks similar and seems like he's working on changing it up.

I appreciate the feedback! Maybe a little quick on the trigger to put pictures out but once again this was just a prototype. This model is not at all for sale. Just a base for me to go off of.

There is no way to make a rack using extruded crossbars and follow the roof line not "look like" a prinsu.

It not like you can make the top portion curved!

Everything will look like a prinsu, you can just do so much to make it look different.

Prinsu has a lot that can be made better though (not different looking though)
    Thicker plates
    Different mounting system
    Black hardware
    Adjustability
    Price
    Aerodynamics
    Hook points
    Anodizing vs powder coating
How well it matches the roofline and the front
    Etc.

Even if you improve all this, from 30ft away it will ALWAY look like a prinsu.

Yeah man, there are plenty of people who have made roof racks that have taken my design and changed things. Honestly looking at it I can’t see anything different from mine. It’s a near exact replica.

Same material, same slot pattern on the sides, same awning mounting points, same mounting tabs, same method of mounting the wind defector with the same number of mounting holes.

By all means look at other designs and improve on them and bring something new and innovative to the market. Don’t just create a blatant copy though.

I wouldnt be surprised if you had used a Prinsu rack for a template.

Plenty of other similar designs that look different and can be distinguished from Prinsu . Echotechne, dissent offroad, SS OFFROAD, Metal Tech, Relentless Fab, Camburg, have all made similar racks but that have some differences, this one is the same, no ingenuity here.

Is there a reason why any of the racks wind deflector doesn't follow the shape of the front instead of a straight line? I know it means for more waste in the cut outs but I tthink it would look cleaner following the outline. JMHO
