No cutout for light bar on mine, but I noticed a wind noise reduction when I added the door edge guard as trim. I'm impressed as for the usefulness (I have cab and topper racks) it is quieter than the rhino rack I had on my 4Runner. Didn't notice much or any loss in fuel economy, maybe .5 mpg if that.

I have not. With the fairing installed on the lowest notch mine already sits extremely close to the roof as is. I could maybe fit the weather stripping on it but since I'm not getting any significant road noise as is, I haven't bothered. I second the comment about no noticable mpg loss. I would recommend buying at least one extra crossbar for it.

IDK price is already a good bit cheaper than the competition. Prices are likely to increase due to the cost of materials and devaluation of our fiat currency.

I recently had an issue with my prinsu topper rack side rails and had no luck contacting cbi for a replacement set. I contacted @gmartin284, having seen the topper rack he sells looks pretty similar to the prinsu rack. The very next day I had a reply, and within two weeks I had a new set of Martin OR side rails for the shell rack. They fit my current setup and I like these side rails A LOT more than the prinsu rails, they are a lot sturdier without the burden of extra weight. Big shoutout to @gmartin284 for the excellent customer service and communication! And for making a great product. I highly recommend his shell rack to anyone in the market for one.

I've had mine on for a year now and wouldn't trade it. It's held up great

Loving my roof rack so far. My road noise at highway speeds has certainly increased, but I don’t mind that as much as the vibrating. It creates a high frequency vibration through the frame that I’m unable to see detail in the rear view mirror because the buzzing is traveling through the roof and windshield.

Are there’s ways to fix the buzzing?

Lower the front wind fairing as close as you can get to the roof without touching. I had similar vibes at certain speeds when I had the wind fairing at the second holes from the bottom. Door edge guard trim may also help but I had that on before lowering.

Also, ensure the rack itself is mounted as square as possible on the truck cab. The mount slots on the tabs allow for slight adjustment so it could be slightly off, causing a vibration at highway speeds. Hope this helps! Feel free to email me at gtmartin284@gmail.com if you have any other questions.

    Thanks!

Installing my rack today and using Teflon tape and pipe dope to prevent leaking. I figure it will be cleaner and if it works for pressurized water and gas fittings it should be okay for the water that the holes see.

Has anyone else done it this way and is there something I am overlooking

Not sure but there's a reason why silicone is used.. why go against it? I don't know if that's a good idea so if your roof leaks let us know. lol.

Yes so that is what I was trying to understand. Is the source of leaking the threads or the entire plate? If it is just the threads then I would treat it as a pipe joint and seal it accordingly. If it is the plate or where the hole in the plate is I would go with the silicone route. I will go with silicone and not tread new waters

Tape and dope are used on pipe treads which are tapered. The tapered threads result in a very tight fit and a lot of compression which is why the tape and door work. Straight threads like the m6 bolts used for this rack don't have that compression. That's why silicone is used

I was thinking of doing this also. Did you use tape?
I was thinking of painting a strip of thin gauge metal and using 3M to attach

Does anyone have a photo of a Martin OR Camper rack on a 2nd gen DCLB? I see the option on the website but don’t see a photo of that specific model. I am picking up a AT Habitat soon and am looking for a rack for over my cab. Really like the these Martin OR racks and would love to support a TW member in the process.

    Thanks!

Shoot me an email at gtmartin284@gmail.com. Depending on the length of the habitat camper overhang, another set of side rails may fit your setup better.
