They're talkin single-digit temperatures starting this weekend during the night time hours here in Northwest Indiana. I like using it for those cold morning startup's. I will typically use one quart which helps clean the engine due to it's high detergent level and it flows very quickly for those winter startups. I normally don't use it during the warm summer months. Has anybody else used this product and had any different experiences with it?

I’ve heard of owners using this, but more common you could also run a top line synthetic, many pour to -76F

You’ll be fine with your regular oil at those temps. It’s not anywhere near cold enough for it to be a problem with synthetic 5W30.

The national transport. safety board did a fingerprint test on MMO back in the day:

    74% mineral oil,
    25% percent stoddard solvent,
    1% lard.

Fwiw I have a random po430 code catalyst below threshold. The last 3 weeks I've been putting some MMO in my fuel. I don't know if it does anything but the code has not code back in 2 weeks. I was getting the code about 3 times a week before.

"Catalyst efficiency below threshold" can sometimes be a bad air-fuel-ratio-sensor or even exhaust leaks. Of course there are other things that can cause that code which could be the catalytic converter but those are just a couple that I've ran a crossed in the past.

Used to use in when changing the oil in my 79 Cherokee Chief and added it occasionally to the gas tank . No problems!

Years ago I had to install a new timing chain and gears in my 71 Nova 305 v8, a few hydraulic lifters had internal carbon buildup and ticked. Mechanic neighbor told me to add 1qt to fresh oil change. When the oil level dropped to 1qt low, I changed the oil and filter again. Never ticked again.

Definitely not "snake oil" it works. it's very high in detergents. It cleans carbon and sludge buildup. Heard people say they've had sticky piston rings due to carbon build-up and low compression. shortly after putting MMO in their oil it restored compression by dissolving build-up on the rings.

No exhaust leaks I probably need to replace the cat. Since it's not costing me any power at this point i don't have to pass emissions so I keep clearing the code so that my traction control systems will work. Eventually I'll fix it. I had other more pressing problems like the awful vibration that the wheel bearings were causing.

So you use a quart of this MMO in place of a quart of your normal oil?

Yes. Keep in mind this will change your viscosity. one of the reasons I do it in cold weather.
