I want to see how the aluminum holds up. So far my oem aluminum skid is trashed. But its not 1/4" either...

Ben at 1/4", it won't take much to dent it but it'll take a fair amount of abuse to bend it.

So, since I'm sure some of you guys have pulled one, any tips for towing a u-haul car trailer? I'm assuming seeing they are a 4 flat they don't have electric brakes, will be putting a 99 cavalier on it.

2" ball, no electric brakes. They use hydro brakes, as you slow, trailer has mechanism in tongue that pushes against ball. That has a hydro line that pushes fluid like normal brakes through lines to drum brakes in trailer. Works well for being so simple. I've pulled one many of times with many of trucks. On my full size I used a 3" drop tongue so trailer pulled level. Make sure you have something to pull it level or it pulls like crap and stops like crap since it is a dual axle trailer without actual electric brakes.

I just want the corrosion resistance and weight savings. But i can fix the steel ones. I can't fuck with aluminum much more than some hammering...

Idk but if I had to guess just a straight one. A drop would probably make it sit too low.

You can use the heat from a torch to shrink it but yah gotta be careful so you don't burn it. I use a heat gun.

side note: do not use heat gun to dry yer hair

Heat gun is best. Just keep moving up and down length of wrap. It won't do anything for a minute or two then all of a sudden shrink fast. Kind of like my penis when my wife, wait, never mind.

I just did the head unit on mine to get Bluetooth. Fairly simple. I have never done anything completely new like a subwoofer and amp.
