Btw you are looking for Amsteel, that's the type of line they have different colors Blue is the most used for winching operations. Dyneema is also a good rope very light weight with min stretch and incredibly strong.

    Dutchwaregear.com

That's the place I had to search through so much to find it you better appreciate it lmao

Also for any one else looking for good pricing on cordage check them out. Best pricing I could find a year ago.

Loopalien.com if you don't like tying knots. Works great for hammocks, tents, clothes lines, pretty much all your home away from home needs.

Paracordplanet.com is another place to go but paracord is extremely flexing, useful in its own way but not for winching or rigging where stretching would be an issue.

Well damn I check them out it doesn't look like they have the thickness you would need any more they max out at 1/8" which is maxed at 2500lbs breaking point. A year ago they offered any thickness you could think of.

I'd still recommend them for cordage though but I guess the hipsters ordering from them for their damn hammocks don't actually go offroading to camp lame ass yuppies....

I asked around in the Hammock Forum (yes there's a hammock forum, and yes I'm a member of it...) So if they have a good source I'll let you know. I also emailed Dutchwaregear to see if they could supply or source a line at least 5/16" thick.

There's a weight chart. I won't say these are the best source for rope but here are the links from a few I came across (I would think a place that advertises it as winch rope would charge more than a place that sells by the foot):

    Winch places:

    http://www.customsplice.com/product-p/5-16diamondline.htm

    http://www.midwestwinchrope.com

    By the foot:

:gossip: Psst, they are the same thing. Dyneema is the name of the fiber. Amsteel is the product line, and Samson is the company/brand.

Yea I know this, the OP said blue synthetic line, so I was giving him the name of the product to search for. As I said buying by the foot from a place vs buying a "winch line" would in theory cost different because one is being sold as general use while the other is being sold to a specific target and like most DIY products it's cheaper to buy the materials and make your own. But knowing what to search for helps dramatically in Google.

    10-4

folks splicing your own line....just remember to also buy a thumble or eyelet/hook, so abrasion guard, and the crimp for the end that bolts to the drum. a splicing needle helps a lot, but is not needed.

Well, seeing as my blower motor keeps cutting in and out here and there, i guess i should replace the resistor with the new part and see if that fixes it.
