I ran in a rallycross event in Houston a few years ago. beat an Evo when he blew out his front end on a concrete lip trying to get around me after a turn. only damage I suffered was a hosed mirror when I clipped a tree cutting a corner a hair too tight.

expect some damage if you're gonna push it, but it was a really great time.

Damn that sounds fun but not my DD it gets enough abuse as is. Plus if I take a Vivance I don't want to see me on rally roads I'm bad enough on the highway with those I'm switching back to the legal crystal meth next month lol.

What are some good tires to go with? This batch of Duratreks SUCK! Suck so much I'm not using Goodyear again... 6 months in and its slipping in the rain even with an easy start... My E rated ones lasted 3 years this batch not even 6 months. I'm thinking going Revo2s again.

The Nitto's are really nice. I'm actually using Yoko Geolanders right now (Mr. Tire special) and they have been really nice to me on and off the road.

its the old gravel FEMA parking lot, heres the info from the SCCA site
    http://www.scca.com/events/1981862-2016-scca-east-coast-rallycross-national-challenge#event_details

This one is the East Coast National challenge, so theres people coming from as far away as Orlando for this, its gonna be a huge event. Im bringing the Crapalier out for its first event.
If you do come out bring lots of water and some sort of dust mask/face covering as the dust can get pretty bad if its dry up there. Its free to spectate you just have to sign in and get your wristband at the registration table. Most people also let spectators ride along with them, and theres loaner helmets available for those that dont have them and those that are riding along.

and for those of you not coming, because national is running this event, the Live timing and scoring trailer will be present, so you should be able to pop in and view the current standings, ill have to find the website for that though, Im running # 596, the Chevy Crapalier

If you guys have a Car in decent shape thats at stock height, throw a set of snow tires on it and come out! most of the DC region guys run their DD's, the most damage ive seen from frostburg is some scratches on the front/rear bumper, its a 100% gravel course so it is kinda unavoidable. also, the mud that forms up there if its wet usually becomes cement if its not washed off the same day lol

Interesting.... are you sure that was rallycross and not Rallysprint? shouldn't have been any passing going on in rallycross, its basically Autocross on dirt/gravel

must have been rally sprint then. i just headed to the local off road park for the day, spur of the moment, and when i got there they told me half of the park was shut down for the races, so i could either race, or wheel the other half. it was two cars at a time, side by side start, no timing, just first one across the line wins. "pro" category raced a bracket until the final two raced for the trophy. "amateur" was just a race as many times as you please for fun, against whatever car happens to pull up next to you.

i thought losing a mirror was bad, but i went back a couple weeks later with another Tacoma guy. we ran the course a couple of times together, and they a little overconfidence happened, and he took a tree to the bumper, when he understeered a turn that sloped to the outside. he hopped out of the truck, tore the bumper the rest of the way off, and kept going :headbang:
