Yesterday morning I woke up to a nice surprise... Someone hit my truck and now there is a nice big dent and paint chip on my driver side front fender. My driver side door also rubs when opening the door now.



I will most likely pay out of pocket for the repairs, so does anyone know of a decent/cheaper body shop around the College Park area? I am tight on cash and I mostly just want to fix the rubbing. I don't care too much about the dent and I might just put a sticker over the paint chip because I live in a shitty neighborhood and it will probably get hit again. Anyone have an idea as to how much this repair would cost and what the best method to repair it would be? Thanks.

 

That freaking sucks!! Might be able to just buy a new fender cheaper then getting it fixed because that crease is going to need body work.

So, kinda noobish question... When you get the lenses, do you need to do HID Ballasts and lights? or did you just stick the stock bulbs in those lights?

I'm sort of debating getting a retrofit kit from theretrofitsource. I have no problem taking the shit apart and doing it myself, I have a spare set of lights to play with.

 

The lights came as you see them. I had to install the hid kit, which was no issue at all. The new lights have h3 bulbs so the 9003 stock bulbs won't fit in the new lights. I never messed with retro fit before so I can really speak about them.

I'm sure 95SLE can give good input on the retro because I think it was him that did the retro on his lights.

 

Interesting. I'm gonna check them out. There is another lifted dark gray xtended cab in rising sun that has them and I see him all the time.

 

Thanks for the info. I got quoted $740 for a new fender, painted, and installed, but I don't know if I can afford that. How difficult is removing and replacing the fender?

 

Fender is super easy. A few 10mm bolts and a few of the plastic rivets and BAM!!! Fender is gone.

 

You are set then. Take your time and measure twice before cutting and uset the horizontal and verticle lines in the reflector bowl to line up the projector placement.

 

Cool, thanks. I'll probably take it off and bend it so the fender does not rub against the door and put it back. I'll wait till I move to a better neighborhood to fix all my lovely dents.
