Tell him he can do that but it will ride very rough.

If you want the 2.5 inches just get a taller coil and leave the struts set at zero

Yeah, I mean you could technically do it without new coils. Plenty guys on here have done it.

Or even do like 1.75 (of that's even a setting, I don't have billys) but I hear them say it rides rough

Go look at @Crom his build is probably the best setup you can have without going to mid or log travel.

    1) 5100s are fine with stock coils, but don't go 2.5, stay at or below 1.75 setting.
    2) Reason being is you're fairly confused. The trim packer is an Old Man Emu product and will not work on 5100 shocks in any way. You also don't need brake lines or a sway relocate for what you're asking to attempt.

New coils (OME is what I'd recommend) are $170 +/-, and a full set of 5100s is/was $330 +/-. Fronts only are an option, but you'll be spending $150+ for them alone. If that's all you can afford, go for it, but don't try to get a 2.5" + lift for $150.

1.75 is noticeably higher in altitude and rides great, minus a little road wandering. If you can afford to get 5100s and a pair of OME coils, that's a better option. Your OEM stuff depending on age and mileage have some value, it might be $100 or less, but if you're on a tight budget, that can be a lot of extra dough from that perspective.

Don't squeeze more lift out of less money, that's my best advice.

2.5" up front means your ass is going to hang low like a sick dog, and if you can't afford to lift your rear end at the same time, then don't spend a dollar until you can fund a decent budget setup. My first setup was under $500 and was great for what it was, but it isn't a 3" lift. You have to buy cheaper shit or you have to be happy with what you can afford. 2.5" or more and it's a different set of issues, like UCAs ($450+), for example.

    Thats where my shit went.

At 51k i had one leaking passenger side strut, two blown rear shocks, and two frowning leaf springs. Plus i scrapped the ubolts, bumpstops, buckets and hardware since i had all new.
