I ran 5100s with OME 885 coils and a single AAL on my previous truck. It worked fine and rode decent, but I was wanting to go something a little better this time around so I'm not wanting to replace it in like 2 years with something better.

You'll be happy either way. Advantage with the FOX kit is they're ready to bolt in. You don't have to have a shop build the front shocks for you using your OEM top hats.

If I were to go the Bilstein route I'd order them assembled. No telling the quality of the tophats on a 12 year old truck! My main debate points is the Fox is a little easier to adjust and may ride a little smoother (guessing here), but the Bilsteins are way beefier, if $150 more and will withstand more abuse. It'll likely come down to how much I feel like spending when I pull the trigger.

Agreed. With the FOX, you can level side to side without the need for a top spacer. They can be adjusted independently. The 5100s cant, you will need a spacer on the drivers side to level and hope it's perfect. Look at ToyTec, they have their own version of the 5100s with an adjustable collar like the FOX shocks have. That's what i'm running.

The unfortunate thing about the Fox C/O's is that you can't adjust them on the truck. You've got to take them off, compress the coil and adjust it that way. :bananadead: Not the end of the world (how often am I really going to adjust them) but still a hassle.

You'll adjust them at least twice. TO level side to side upon install, to fine tune once they settle. If they're not adjustable in place, I personally wouldn't run them. The ToyTec shocks I sent the link to are adjustable in place.

I would help but... I helped a couple members here and on a 4runner forum install their lifts free of charge at my work on a lift in a well equipped shop after business hours. But I think my boss was thinking that I was using his shop to make side money after hours and he kinda put a end to me helping others. But I didn't take a dime from no one I was just trying to help out fellow members.

I got some tools, no grinder though. I have nothing to install currently, but eyeing a bumper upgrade in the future!

Was this something that happened recently?

Maybe it's time to get your garage set up like a shop.

Wish I could set my garage up as I originally planned but after putting down $25k on this cabin & property I don't have the extra funds right now. But I'll get back on the garage after I get some stuff done here at the cabin.

I wouldn't hesitate to buy one there. Definitely won't buy from Romney cycles again if I can avoid it
