Yeah, here you don't have to have a title for an ATV or SXS but they want you to....so there is more paperwork.

For you third gen V6 Tacoma and 5th gen 4Runner guys, there's a metal replacement for the crappy plastic oil filter housing cover. You guys may know of it but worth posting anyway. Just put mine on today, first oil change at 2000 miles, fits like a glove. Only thing you have to so is move the center post from your stock plastic one into this one. They just pop right out, 15 seconds and you're done.

It's plastic on the 3rd gen Tacoma and 5th gen 4Runner. Toyota used metal ones on the Prius, it's a direct swap.

That's crazy to me they'd make that plastic. Especially when the metal one is so inexpensive.

If it was metal, all us 3rd gen Tacoma and 5th gen 4Runner owners wouldn't have to buy them as an upgrade. Is it crazy or is it very smart of Toyota? They knew they'd make a killing selling them to us rather than providing them to begin with.

They probably did it for the weight savings, for better EPA ratings.

I wouldn't trust plastic to hold precious oil in an engine.

No way! They're the TITS. It's like a 4runner with the option for a real bed. On stock trucks I'm not a fan of them, but on beefed up trucks I think they look great.

They certainly do have their use, i'll just never run one. Just hate the look of them. Every pick up I ever bought that had a cap on it, had the cap removed that day lol. I guess I just never had the need for one otherwise I may look at it differently.

I would never pay full price for one, that's for sure. When I was in FL I traded my $1000 wheels and tires for a topper in great condition and $500. Ran the topper for a bit (and loved it) but then sold it for $1200. Talk about a hell of a profit. The kid I was dealing with just bought the truck and didn't give two shits about the topper and just wanted nice wheels and tires. For the couple weeks I had the topper it was really nice having dry, locking storage without being in the cab.

I'm looking for a cap, only to use it when I go camping. Hate using the bed tent I have now, especially when it rains.

That's gonna be tricky because there's rc specific shells to follow the lines of the cab. Gonna be tough to find a used one.

Yes, I know. I passed up one a couple of weeks ago, because I thought the price was high, and it had the older silver color. I am already regretting that decision.
