You can see what I went with.

The only way i'd buy the WR250 is in the X version. They're just too much money for a 250. But they make a killer stunt bike

That's the worst part. It's stock :bananadead: I had to replace my rack and pinion, among a couple other minor things. That was quite the expensive adventure (details in build thread).

Reinspection? I thought it was a one and done deal here aside from emissions?

Got inspected, and failed for license bulb out, low front brake pads, condensation in a headlight and a leaky rack and pinion. Fixed everything, and found out during alignment/reinspect yesterday they couldn't align it due to me skipping a crucial step in the r&p install. Was done with wrestling that shit around, so just paid them to fix it. Between that, alignment and reinspect it was $544. Overall it was a good deal, so I'm not too mad.

WR250 is underpowered for my liking, and the DRZ is a bit of a pig. I'm between doing a WR450 conversion and the 690/701.

I love my drz. But it is too heavy, and needs more power. But what it gives up in power and weight, it gains in reliability and dependability.

When people ask me, should they spring for a more expensive bike like a WR450 or 701, i say, if you can afford it and are prepared to work on it yourself...go for it.

But if you want a bike you can always beat the fuck out of and it'll smile as it takes it, the DRZ is the clear winner.

Agreed. I don't plan on letting go of my FZ-09, so the idea of wrenching on one of those two doesn't bother me. Parts availability for the Yammie is solid, too. This would be purely something for me to get stupid on :bikewheelie2::devil:

Its also a pain in the ass to make the WR street legal here. I'd go through Montana if I were you and couldn't find one already converter

Last I looked into it, Vermont was the way to go. Honestly though, I wouldn't mind a lightly used one that someone else jumped through the hoops for, as long as it was fuel injected (2012+). I don't miss carb'd bikes man.

Carbs are easy. Fussing with power commanders is more of a hassle in my opinion

Also....candy red fz09 will be in my future

Ah yes, the Transformers^TM model :D honestly though, if those projectors put out more light I'm all for it. Did they do anything with the suspension on the new gens?

Shock is the same. Forks are way better.

    Headlights are insane.

Rode one a few weeks ago and fell in love.
