Can anyone recommend a good dealer to work with regarding frame rust, in MD? I am near Frederick, but will travel wherever. Doing maintenance this weekend I found a couple Half dollar size holes, completely through the frame. I had it inspected and coated in 2010, so I'm under warranty, but I want to find a good dealer to do it with. The "coating" Toyota applied back then did nothing but hide the rust under a thick black layer, and it continued to get worse. The 15 year warranty is only good until next year for me, so I need to get moving.

I used Russell Toyota in Ellicott city(where I bought it) to do the inspection back then. I didn't have any issues with them, so I will go back if no one has a better option. I just don't want to end up like some of the horror stories Ive read about dealers charging a bunch of money for things related to the replacement. I also would prefer a shop that has done a bunch and knows what they're doing.

    Thanks

Went ahead & took a screeny of your post for a former Toyota dealer tech who left them for our company. This is his reply:

I said personally, I would choose the dealership I usually go to.

    And then he agreed:

Russell is now Mile One. They absolutely suck now. Manager Bobby is great but his assistant is a tool. I bought my 2016 Tacoma there and went back for my 2016 4Runner. Walked out never to return, ever. Ended up driving out to Prince Frederick and bought from Bayside Toyota. I would take that drive again, great dealer.

So replaced hoses and thermostat temps holding steady at 195-197 at idle instead of 203 -208 also I do believe the lower hose was reason for the slow and impossible leak do to the build up of crystallized coolant in the thermostat housing

Well just went for 2 mile ride temps shot right back up to 204.8 guess the thermostat wasn't my issue

    Time for a new radiator.

Make sure there is no mud or anything caked in the condensor or radiator

It's clean I'm leaning towards Water pump #1as far as I know it's original #2 the flow through the radiator was minimal at best while refilling #3 153,000 on it

But I should pull the plugs to check for head gasket leak ,just not enough time in the day when you work 6 days a week and trying to get another truck thru inspection

If you pull the plugs, replace them. No point in putting old plugs back in and new plugs never hurts.

The 2.7 is quicker 0 to 60 mph than the 3.5 and a tenth quicker in the quarter. The damn 2.7 does 0 to 60 in 5.7 seconds. That's only two tenths slower than the 5th gen LS1 Camaro... To get the 5.7 seconds they're launching in four wheel drive. My truck is two wheel drive and does it in 6.7 seconds. Stupid computers won't let me launch as hard. I've tried so many combinations and the best I did was 6.7.

    ;)
