My parents bought a Kawasaki mule last year. It's like one of those lifted golf carts, but slightly more expensive and infinitely more useful.

Excellent in the snow. Tows like 1500 lbs. Hauls firewood. Manual dump bed is easy. The most useful thing ever is being able to tow the log splitter around the property and load up the bed as you go. Love the mule.

If I had property I'd definitely get a SxS.

I've watched a lot of videos on the 690 adventure R actually. If it was going to be my only bike and I rode it all the time I wouldn't mind spending 10k on one.

what kind of cap and rail system does that mount too? and you think it would support 4 195/65R15 tires/wheels?

Right now it's mounted to the tracks that came on the shell. I think it's thule? It just used a t nut to secure it to it. And it could definitely support the weight! That wasn't the issue, so much as that much weight AND bouncing around on rough trails. I had the RTT up there as well as my wife and I (all in ~430 lbs including tent) and it did just fine. I'm assuming it'd be for your rally car heading to events?

yeah, it would be really nice to just throw the tires up on the roof to free up some bed space, and not have them in the way when i needed something

Where are you at in MD? You could always come by and check if out of you wanted. The cross bars are close enough to rest the tires on, and it's a little under 6' long, so definitely enough space for all 4 of them.

I'm off Monday! I actually work at Ft Meade, and could meet up with you before work if you wanted to look at it. I don't get to work until 5:30 pm, so if you're free before that it'd work out well. If not we can just plan on next monday.

I’ve been in GR on the bike in the dark before. It sucks. I wanted to avoid that.

He told me he was thinking about bringing the Z. I knew he wouldn’t. Well he shocked the shit out of me!
