I do satin black rustoleum on everything! And I mean everything. Skids, sliders, wheels, roof rack, rear drawer system. All the same color.

The only thing i don’t like about the flat black is that it stains easily.

Yeah, that's true. I haven't noticed that so much with the satin.

My grille is the hammered black and it definitely looks gray especially since I just used the rustolem bed liner on my bumper

    Yawn...
    Isnt @EatSleepTacos selling some 17s?

After seeing them on my sister's SR4 4runner, I really want them. However, spending money is going towards some really cheap side steps and some more effect pedals for my guitar.

One day I'll be proud to have the Mobtown offroad sliders. But not now. Winter is coming! Need to brush off the snow off my roof and not be like every other dimwit driving on the highway.

I am! But they're already wrapped in tires, so it wouldn't be a good fit for him.

    A thing or two...
Rustoleum bedliner blends perfectly with powder coat. I used it to touch up the dings from shipping on my Demello bumper and when I had to chop on my Cali Raised ditch brackets to make them fit. I only painted where I needed to and I can't see the transition.

I'm just not a huge fan of PC. If I'm gonna have to be touching it up anyways from trail dings, I don't want to pay the extra. Only PC part I have is my bumper and that's because I bought it second hand.

Yeah. I'm a cheap ass, so I usually don't want to spring for PC. However, I spent almost as much spraying my sliders with bedliner as having them powder coated would have cost. Before I bought my bumper, I called a place in Fredericksburg to see about having it LineX'ed. That was quoted at about 2x the cost of PC, so I went with PC because I didn't want to go through the hassle of spraying the bumper myself.

That's totally understandable! I'm even more of a cheap ass, and just go with basic spray paint. Cost me $15 in paint to do these sliders.

    Nice.

A number of people kept saying how great the Rustoleum bedliner spray is during the Mobtown slider group buy earlier this year, so I went with it. Truthfully, I find it to be kind of a PITA. They say to wait 2 days before putting the liner 'into service' after painting, but it stays pretty soft for quite awhile. Heat and sun exposure seem to help it harden faster, but it's still a pain. The liner on my bed stiffeners stayed soft enough that I could scrape it off with my fingernail without effort for 2-3 months. Even now (6+ months after first painting), the liner on my bed stiffeners hasn't setup like the liner on the sliders, and the sliders were installed a couple months after the stiffeners.

paint works fine, but it needs to be done properly, IE Primer, Basecoat, and clear, with sanding in between. otherwise the paint isnt gonna stick very well, and the road salt we get here will destroy it in a matter of days.

My skids made it through winter fine.

Brake clean, universal bonding primer, then flat black.

That's pretty much what I do. Acetone, self etching primer and then paint. Haven't had any winters yet so we'll see how it all holds up.
