It maybe expensive, but which costs more. Having the trees cut down, or the cost to fix/rebuild your house if a tree did come down. Also, the peace of mind knowing you don't have to worry about it every time there's a wind storm. Also, if you've got a fireplace or wood burning stove, you've got a source of firewood.

I know I hear ya. It's 15 trees we need to have cut down though.

Selling the would is the only option. We removed the wood burning stove to put a bar in the family room.

    Priorities.

Have you thought of contacting a logging/lumber company? If the trees are 4 ft in diameter, I'd think they'd be real interested in them. Heck, maybe you could get them to pay you for them. 15 trees though might not be worth their while. :notsure:

There are just 15 on the edge of that hill. I have 2.5 acres and 50% is wooded. They can come and take them all. The first year we moved up there from the city I had no idea I could just blow the leaves off into the woods around my property. My neighbors stopped one day and asked if I was crazy. I had filled 116 - 55 gal bags with leaves. I never bagged again.

ALways knew I was a country boy at heart. Grew up a Marine brat so we lived in Little Creek and then on Oahu when I was a kid. So grass and trees were not new to me. Had family that lived down off 301 before Rte 10 existed, when Ritchie Highway was just 4 lanes. The had a outhouse. Hated visiting them.

Grew up in the city from 1972 on. Lived in Virginia Beach myself for a while. Then moved back. Was in the city from 1983' to 2002'. Moved up there because it was that or go to jail for murder living in the city.

When I reported it the data said over 3600 houses without power up where I live. Guess who's having dinner at the bar tonight? Gunpowder Lodge Here I Come!

Y’all are making me jealous with all the talk about living away from the city. I live in a apartment complex where they won’t let you wash your truck in the parking lot...let alone change your oil. Don’t ask me how I know about that last part.

At least the trees are just decorative and small. Although I won’t shed a tear if they blow over and the birds lose a perch off of which they defile my clear coat.

They’re just big, long lived weeds. Strategically placed they can provide shade or a wind break I suppose. I work in the woods often, so the majesty may be fading where I am concerned with them. That or I just want to chainsaw something.
