So far it's looking like the "Bullets & Beer" meet may be a wash out for this weekend. If it is I'll reschedule and of course mention it on here.

Yea, as others have said, it's all subjective to your driving style/habits, and needs. I have run Pro Comp Xtreme ATs, Goodyear KO2s & Duratracs, General Grabber (red letters), and now these Nitto's, some others that are not worth mentioning. As we all know, I do not go off road unless it is on my property into the grass areas. I do drive 80 avg round trip when I commute and on the highway I do drive very fast. I also want an E range tires so that when I do tow I have the added strength. So I want a tire that is quiet, smooth, strong, and handles snow, dry and wet very well and all speeds but definitely at high speeds.

What's nice is, since this is a Md thread we all know how our snow is. Meaning the type of snow. Sometimes I talk to people and they recommend a tire but it may be someone like my buddy in NM. He gets more snow than we do on average because he is at 8k feet but his snow is very dry. He uses Michelin LTX A/T 2 and swears by them. He tows his toy hauler to remote wooded areas where the roads/trails are just dirt/clay. Here in Maryland though, we get that wet, sloppy snow/ice bead mix. My KO2s would load up terrible. General Grabbers were just a bad choice. The Pro Comps were more than adequate. The stock tires are on order to be replaced before I take delivery. Now, the Duratracs were on my Tundra, load range C, and on my 4Runner Trail, also load range C. I loved them. Had them on the Tundra to almost 50k. On the 4Runner though, I think I got a bad batch. They only lasted 30k miles. Again, my speeds top most in all cases of my on road driving. It's why I run with a radar detector all the time. I have a lead foot. I like to go fast.

My Nittos so far have been as good if not better than the Duratracs in every driving scenario or weather condition. When I bought them back in June of 2017 they only had a E range in the 265/70r17, which measure 32" on the rim. The only downside is the weight. These weigh nearly 55 lbs. Add in the Ray 10 wheels, lugs and balance weights and I am at about 80 lbs on each corner. Fully loaded for a week vaca downy ocean Hun, and I was able to pull 22.2 mpg's. If I drive normal I can get nearly 18.5 commuting.

I now have 16k miles on them I haven't measured lately but they still look like they are new. When I rotate them, at every 4 - 5 k miles, I cross the rears to the fronts and move the fronts straight back. I am still amazed how smooth and quiet these are.

I may look at the Nitto Terra Grappler as a summer tire eventually to try to get more MPGs during my commute, and run these as a winter/off-road set.

The KO2 next to the General AT2 were so similar. Biggest difference being the sidewall. My buddy and I both had them on Rangers in the same size.

My Tundra has Uniroyal Tigerpaws. I'll oroproba replace them with Michelin LTX, just unsure what flavor. Maybe something more highway oriented since I don't plan on offroading. I wanted to hit the trails with my Tacoma but it never happened.

I'm running Cooper ST MAXX and I am quite happy with them. Great traction, low road noise. But to be honest you can't go wrong if you go with what appears to be the top five tires folks are running; KO2, ST MAXX, Ridge Grappler, Duratracks, or Wildpeakes. Of course those are all more on the off-road side of the equation.

So this posting was probably of zero help since I'm playing the part of Captain Obvious. :)

Me too. I know you guys have busy schedules so that's why I like to give a months or so notice but I think for the next meet I'm gonna wait til a nice weekend is predicted then mention it on here. It won't be much notice but at least the weather will be nice for those that can make it.

Anybody every experience death wobble in a loaded down E350 ( Morgan/Olson body)at 75 mph after hitting a large bump on the highway? Well let me tell you it’s not fun almost shit my pants ,had to abruptly slow down to 20 while in left lane another truck was beside me in the right lane fortunately no one was behind me.

Sadly Tstorms & rain are predicted for this evening & throughout the weekend so I think it's gonna be a good idea to cancel Bullets & Beer. I'll mention it here when I schedule the next meet.
