Trip to Green Ridge State Forest. Good chance for anyone new to wheeling to get some experience. Mostly fire roads with a couple fun obstacles.

If I am missing anybody, feel free to add yourself to the list. Still waiting to hear from a couple of the new guys. Also @AR15xAR10 will you carry this list over to the meetup thread?

Edit: I will be camping the night of the 18th, along with a couple others. If you want to camp, thats great! We can fit as many as we need to, and use multiple campsites. If you just want to wheel, we will meet at ~0930 on the 19th at the Green Ridge Ranger station.

It has shifted like shit from day one and I bought it new. It feels like it doesn’t know what gear it wants to be in sometimes and I’ll hit the gas and it either wants to go or it hesitates and then goes. Significantly worse with AC on, to the point where I don’t trust it and wait for bigger gaps in traffic.

I took it back repeatedly and finally they checked the fluid at about 15k miles and it was underfilled from factory. Added a little fluid and it helped but I still hate the way it shifts and feels like it’s searching for a gear.

I’ve done a bunch of research on this over the three years I’ve owned the truck and people with my issue have seen great results swapping out to a better fluid. Toyota’s trans fluid is apparently crap.

I have 65k+ miles on it and I use my truck as a truck.

You could always try running it with the ECT switch activated (Not sure if the 2015 has this though). That is essentially the Tow Mode and it eliminates the upper gears. If it feels better then I would just say that you are experiencing the typical poorly designed transmission a lot of people complain about.

Some pro tranny shops might be able to diagnose it though and it might not cost that much, or could even be free for the diagnostic. I would look for the most reputable place near you though, or drive until I found one. Go to a shop that specializes in this service.

Our Pasadena and Glen Burnie member can comment on this place:

Maybe try a place that has been doing this since I was a kid:

These places are closer to you and get excellent reviews on Google, although the first one is not a dedicated transmission place:

Please all of us live 2 -3 hours from any orv park so don’t give me that excuse . Being busy with school is the only excuse acceptable but that’s no different from working a full time job ..
