Just their way of not having to pay back the poor customers that paid up front for their products. It's a damn shame.

Doesn’t that mean if people sue it hits them personally?

Yes but once they claim bankruptcy it frees them of their financial obligations.

As a sole independent business owner I can sympathize for them but they definitely didn’t handle the situation properly also feel for the customers that gave them thousands of dollars that are lost . Suing them probably won’t get anybody there money back since the business filed bankruptcy and they are protected by laws from most if not all personal suits as long as they kept business and personal monies separate.jmo.

If they kept it separate wouldn’t they file bankruptcy for the business and not personal?

“I highly doubt there were any investors. They received their credit counseling as required for Bankruptcy Court on 8/27. They knew what they were doing all along. After all, bankruptcies every 7 years seems to be their M.O. Tyler in 2001, Satin in 2009, and now 2018. All public record folks.”

I would assume yes but if they took a loan on there house to fund the business as an investment they would most likely have to file personal bankruptcy

Mostly it seems just mismanagement and living above there means .If they were having problems they shouldn’t have continued taking orders and spending the money .Just plain stupid and selfish.imo

To be honest I always felt something was off with them which is why I refused to purchase or support them. Just always seemed like they had a cult-like following but didn't fully deliver

Granted I’m not even close to a bumper in my mod wish list, but the wait times were crazy. Not sure I’d be willing to tie money up knowing I’d wait a year for my $1k+ product.

Are other companies stating the same wait times?

Agreed. My only purchase from them was a battery cage, and I wasn't super please with it. I had to modify it right out of the box to get it to not rub on a rubber line.

Not even close. Most lead times are AT MAX 8 weeks. I know mobtown usually has anywhere from 4-8 which seems to be the norm. But a YEAR wait? There's no proper explanation for that aside from improper management. You need to go OOS and stop taking orders if it's taking over 2 months to get an order done.

Not to blame people but supply and demand works wonders. If people would have hopped off the pelfrey train and just stopped ordering this would have been finished sooner. Easier said now, though, seeing what happened.

    This ^^^^^

Three reasons Mobtown will get my money. One, they are Maryland bred like me, but two, and most importantly, they are legit. If you look beyond this thread you will see the same positive reviews from everyone that deals with them. Oh wait, I did read one review from one guy that said the sliders stuck out too far and provided too much protection o_O :jerkoff:

    Tool.

Three, well it goes without saying.....quality products!
