Ohh gotcha, you having withdrawls yet? Lol. I saw you had a bitch of a time getting the old bushings out. I still have my old LCAs sitting in the garage, maybe one of these days I'll give it a go.

I’m a little fella too. That’s why I’m driving a little truck. Just thought I’d get you going some. Had a cj-5 once. 68 model Kaiser made. Buick v-6. Broke down on Pennsylvania Avenue DC. Rear drive shaft yoke. Took shaft off, put it in 4wd, still made it to work on time.

Now that I’ve done it, I believe I could have all bushings out of stock lcas in an hour, without any of that bottle jack mess. It’s really not THAT bad.

Fire, drilling, and cutting instead? Only thing I would be worried about is cutting too far trying to get through the metal sleeve. I dont have the welding skills that you have to reinforce it :D

It’s not hard to avoid doing that. Just cut a little bit, try and chisel it out, cut a little more, etc. On the ones I took my time I didn’t cut the actual lca. You can do it!

For fire, I recommend the propane torch that hooks to a 20lb bottle from harbor freight. Will turn that bushing to ash in minutes.

Before you do that, cut off the outer “washer” and it’ll drop right out, leaving you with the sleeve

Sweet thanks! I'll definitely hang onto those LCAs then to try that at some point. I guess I really dont have anything to lose anyway they're just sitting in my garage as spares

None that are digital. Have not found the need for it yet.

I could see if i was assembling engines regularly, yes. But torquing suspension parts and lug nuts, no way. I’m too cheap.

Harbor freight just came out with a new one, Quinn. 25% off this weekend too. I wouldn’t hesitate to try it.

get the quinn one from HF

lol. half the current snap on stuff is worse quality than what you can get from horrible frieght.

still worth it regardless, the digital ones have a much wider range than the mechanical ones do.

This again^ the design is the exact same as an older model snap on, probably made in the same factory. just test it against a known good wrench first so you get an idea of any variance present.

Yep, they're right down the road from me as well. Maybe 5/10 minutes. Every now and then i'll browse their site to see what they have on the lot. They do auctions every saturday, i've been wanting to go to one just out of curiosity. I'm sure i wouldn't buy anything but it might be interesting

I've always been curious about that place. Never been to one of their auctions either.

There was a Cement Gray 3rd Gen Double Cab (I didn't notice the bed length) sitting in their lot yesterday. It had a front license plate so I assume it wasn't going to be up for auction.
