I agree with ya, I can't stand cigarettes. I remember when I bought that high mileage 04 Tacoma TRD with a rusted frame from a fellow TW member. I agreed on $750 from his pics that he emailed me. Pics didn't show the yellow headliner & other nicotine stains and of course the odor. I told him the interior damage & odor changes everything. I drove to chambersburg pa and I was ready to walk away from that deal. We re negotiated to $600. I told him i didn't care about the frame or 400k+ miles, theres no way I'm paying $750 after smelling it.

Dave68, what Facebook marketplace do you look at? I just signed up for Facebook this weekend and am kinda overwhelmed with all that. I haven’t had a smart phone for very long either, so I am sort of ignorant with all this tech stuff. Your friend Ditch

I was thinking about you out there in the heat, I have lots of memories when it was so hot in Frostburg, the only relief was ohiopyle or the basement.

P.S. remind me to hang out in here more!

Tundra battery died yesterday. It has the optional 27F Toyota battery in it dated December 2013. Pretty dang good considering what I've read about Toyota batteries. Anyways, up in the air between regular wet cell Napa battery or a Napa AGM. Price difference is about $40. The AGM has a few more cranking amps and the same reserve capacity. Thoughts? Recommendations?

I still have the interstate battery in my Tacoma that I installed back in 2013 after my motor swap. Even tho that truck sits alot it still fires up everytime. The interstate in my chevelle is from 2012, still going strong.

I have had the best luck with Interstate batteries, but unfortunately the nearest dealer is about an hour away. The way life is set up I can't get to one on such short notice.

My boat had 2007 Interstates in it that were still kicking when I replaced them. I had a Ranger years ago that came with an interstate that was dated like 2006 when I replaced it when the alternator died in like 2013ish.

In the rare case of warranty and replacement it just isn't easy for me to get Interstates around here. :(

I've had good luck with Napa batteries. They're Dekas.

I think interstate makes Exide batteries. Only like 3 manufacturers in the US.

Do you have a Costco account? I hear they sell great batteries, excellent warranties and have really good prices.

Nearest Costco is about an hour as well.

I live in a geographical oddity. An hour from everywhere.

Local Napa made the decision easy. Only had the lead acid in stock.

I enjoy living in the middle of nowhere-ish.

Almost all of my batteries are Napa now. My boat has two group 27 dual purpose marine from Napa. In a pinch I guess I could dig out one of those for the truck. ATV has a Duracell that seems to be fine.

Do you need a sealed battery?

Because they don’t really do anything but live a slightky more stable life in rough conditions.

An AGM battery is a lead acid battery with fiberglass in it to absorb the acid make it not leak, to hold the fluids together in a constant status with all the cells/plates.

This video had a lot of good info:

Great video. I actually watched it.

The lead acid battery I got from Napa looks identical to the OEM Toyota battery (except for the Napa sticker) with exactly the same specs. We'll see how it holds up for under $125.

The Duracell in my ATV is what came in it when I got it and it is a classic lead acid battery. I had a regulator/rectifier go bad (see 16+ volts at idle) which caused some strange problems with my ATV and while looking in to that I noticed the battery was very low on fluid. I filled it back up with distilled water and keep it on a trickle charger and I've been trouble free ever since. I honestly thought the battery or something else was cooked. When this battery gives up I was leaning toward an AGM for my ATV.

I belive it stands for Anti Gravity Matter. So they’re perfect for atvs and motorcycles

The Gel batteries are absolutely not worth it. They do have really decent warranties though. I’ve never had one last longer than 3 years and they always get replaced under warranty. So it becomes a vicuous cycle lol.

I have dabbled in lithium just last year and the year before last. They truly are amazing. Had one go completely dead on my girlfriend’s bike, bump started it in the driveway and rode it for about an hour. The battery bounced right back and has not missed a beat yet!
