Looking at other places looks like its normal in that range, but if you're able just do a water pump and thermostat. Might be as old coolant?

 

While riding my Harley on these back roads down to the gun store today I saw this ole 55 Studebaker sitting in a backyard so I stopped and asked if it was for sale. The guy said $500. This will make a cool peice of yard art here at the cabin. I figured I could fill the bed with some old whiskey barrels, mason jars & copper tubing for decoration. Make it look like a old moonshiners truck. My wife isn't too excited about my idea but I think it would look cool. Scrap guy up here has a car trailer with winch, he told me $60 to haul it up the mountain to my place. Just have to wait til next weekend because I don't have that much cash on me.

 

Now it's time to break these in.

 

Just did full coolant flush.

Timing belt is due at 240k, might just end up doing it all early.

 

I wanna plan a TW cabin meet soon. I'll post the date here when the wife & I decide on which weekend.

Friday - 3 doctors appointments and over 3 hours at the truck pulling parts, then nearly 2 hours at CVS waiting for prescriptions, stopped by chipotle for dinner, got home finallyaround 1800, chilled, ate, then started packing, finished around 0030, crashed! Hard!

Saturday - up at 0530, out the door at 0730, 30 minutes later than planned, at the airport 2 hours before our flight. Not a morning person.



Arrived in Florida yesterday around 1300, and picked up the rental car.





Note to self - Think the next sedan we buy will have to be a convertible! It's a hoot!

Took our time, adjusted all the mirrors and seats, paired the phone, locked in directions on Waze, set up the tunes, and left the airport. About 30 minutes later I had to pull off the interstate and get air in one of the tires. WTF. Note to self - convertible will not be a Mustang.

The dive down was breeze. Literally. With a hurricane warning things were choppy in the bay.



But started to clear up the farther south we went.





Ultimately we arrived at the Casa around 1600 and I had to immediately tend to business.



Then we unpacked and went out for drinks and dinner. In that order.



Naturally I had to have the grouper Tacos!



Neat little place. Great food and peeps working there. It was a great end to a very long day.



Let's see what day two brings. More pics to come.

Oh, fuck whatever anyone says about Florida not being humid. They are full of shit.

Nice,After 2 years and 4 months of being self employed I will be taking my 1st vacation the wife and I will be driving down to Asheville NC for a few days the 1st week of Nov.to see my son and visit every craft brewery I can.

 

Way cool Brian! I think the longest we've gone with a real vacation has been 10 years.

 

spent mine in the garage. Im hoping that this chassis is rust free enough to race again.
