Some nasty snow drifts yesterday afternoon on the back roads. It'd be clear blacktop, then 2-3 inches of packed snow. Made it about 1/4 of the way up one hill before the truck slowly came to a stop, just spinning out. Quick switch into 4wd and no issues at all.

Found a Nissan Altima that had slid a little too far off the road into some deeper stuff, so I slowed down and asked her if she'd like some help. Threw on the hazards, aligned up the truck, and started looking for a spot to hook up. Between kneeling down in the snow while looking up under her car, wind gusts, and the duel exhaust fumes in my face, it was not pleasant. All of the sudden the car stopped running, with the driver standing next to me. Tried to restart it, no go. She popped the hood and as I walked to the front, saw a woman in her early 20s, kid maybe 5, and a baby all inside, now with no heat. Got out the jumpers, but evidently the car had given up for the day. I asked if she had a phone to call a tow, which she did. She then tried giving me $20 for helping her out, to which I said I couldn't take it... I wasn't able to do anything. As I walked back to the truck, heard the kid crying and girl was breast-feeding the baby. Wish I could have done more, but at that point even if I pulled her out of the snow, they'd still be stuck there, and I'm no mechanic. They were all bundled up and had blankets in the car, but still hope the tow truck wasn't too far behind me.

You can get a battery terminal cleaner from a parts store and you just pop the negative off, clean the post on the battery, clean the hole in the cable, then leave it dangle and do the positive; then put the postive back on then the negative back on. I'll get a picture of a battery terminal brush:

Anyone interested in buying bamf weld on sliders with kick out for a dblcab short bed second gen pm me I'm trying to buy some bolt on ones and I never got around to installing mine because can't find a welder to do the install. Like I said sliders are for a dbl cab short bed and have a kick out comes with everything you need to install and are already coated in truck bed coating.

Yea when I bought mine it had the side steps I removed those really quick after I saw my friend mess his truck up when they bent when he got high centered. Here really nice sliders just can't find a welder in southern md who is willing to do it. I figuer if I get the bolt on ones ill install em myself on e the weather gets better and I'll be good to go.

Would still need to find a welder which is my original problem. They ship to you welded up all the way to the legs you still have to weld up the triangular brace that goes from the slider leg to the portion that welds to the truck frame. So I guess I could modify them to be bolt on but I would still need a welder and already found some bolt on ones that come with the drill bits and what not so I think it's less of a hassle to just sell and buy the ones I found

I see i see. So they don't come 100% fabbed? You have to finish them before welding them on....thats crazy.

Yea even some bolt on ones need to be shimmed sometimes because the weld is a little bit off or something nothings perfect you know. But yea if anyone is interested there here gonna put the dad up on the for sale section as soon as I take pics and what not. But like I said if any of y'all are interested shoot me a pm and I can txt you some pics and we can discuss price and meeting up and all that.

You know, you could just arrange something at a meet from one of local members. See if you could get someone to weld up them for you...

I work a lot and have odd hours so really don't have much time to go to meets. But if someone could weld them up for that would be awesome as long S they have proof that there experienced welded so wouldn't have any problem with them doing it. And paying them some cash.
