testing out my avatar and a random question!

is there such thing as middle ground front end protection? I don't wheel at the moment and despite my plans to in the future, I don't know how long in the future it will be or if itll actually ever happen since this truck is my dd.. that being said I can't justify spending a dick ton of cash on a plate bumper, but I dont want something like a bullbar that will bend if you sneeze on it too hard. haha some of the light bars (like the Avid light bar) look like they might offer some protection, but since they are advertised as a light bar I doubt they actually would.

side note: I'm thinking about those MD TRD beside decals.. is St3ve the one to talk to about those or should I talk to RuggedT?

I'm seriously wanting an Avid light bar in the beginning of summer. Only thing i'm worried about is people giving me hell for having a light bar, no lights, and no lift. Lol.

    PM St3ve for MD decals.

i got my ARB Bull bar for ~$600 IIRC. Not sure exactly if I get what you are talking about with the 'middle ground protection'. Are you referring to skid plates?

Smirk at them and say, " You are just mad because you didn't think of it first" Maintain that smile/ swagger and walk away. Do not let them continue the conversation. If they are still talking, ignore them and leave the room. It will send most people into a rage, just walking out of the room and not giving them the satisfaction to listen to them and their rant.

The bamf sliders I have aren't customizable as far as the angle of the sliders go. just customizable height wise and it's not as much customizable more like were you wanna weld it obviously you would want to center them as best as possible but if you wanted them more high or low you'd have about idk a half inch maybe.

Oh yea, I had forgotten about that. Haha that would be pretty much right up my alley. I'll have to keep an eye on it and see how much they will end up actually costing closer to production time. I remember seeing a build thread somewhat recently with a guy who home-fabbed something similar and I liked the way it looked. If I knew how to weld I may even give it a shot myself haha

By middle ground protection I just mean I want something that will protect my front end more than a brush guard will, but since I dont offroad at the moment (although I really want to go..) I can't really justify buying an ARB or other plate/hybrid bumper since I don't think I need to be indestructible lol if I can find one sort of cheap then maybe but I can't really justify >$600 right now.

Another (probably) stupid question.. Bumpers like the ARB use the stock mounting brackets and are bolt on and not weld on right?
