That’s exactly what I have on my truck 265/65/17 and had Koons Toyota in Annapolis install them and balance.

They should fit no problem. The TRD wheels I believe are only 7" wide, but 265/70/17 is the Pro stock size. 265/70/17 is the stock size on the other trim 5th gens with 7.5" wide wheels. 265/65/17 is the stock 4th gen size on 7.5" wide wheels, and I don't think the 1/2" less wheel width would make a big difference. Just some numbers to give you a feel of some of the 4runner gen sizes and how there should be no problem with their fitment on the wheel. If you already knew that, disregard lol

The problem could be the tires themselves? Are they a make that people typically have trouble balancing?

Is it all the tires or only one? It should work.

Tacos never wave, I mostly get waves from modded 4runners and FJ’s

Is it a Firestone or a mom and pop shop. Like I said I took mine to Koons Toyota and never was told anything about needing to add more weight. They put them on and balanced it and drives straight as an arrow. Are your tires new or used?

Lol too late.. already bought new tires (falken wildpeaks) and planning on an OME suspension upgrade/kit. This is my first car and daily driver haha though I'm currently WFH, so the commute is limited. Got the truck with 138k miles so I've got plenty of life. The goal is to take it out west on an elk hunt.

There’s so many modded tacomas on the road, I got to many weird looks when I waved. Once in a blue moon I get that appreciation wave

I'm in the same boat, er, truck. Not planning on doing any hard offroading but I wanted to get a decent base for the future. If I want to get serious then I'll go with kings or something later down the road. I really wanted to do the Bilstein 6112s based on all the great reviews, but coming to the realization that their availability is so sparce right now, and after talking with EMP about my plan, the Toytec sounded like the best option for my needs when it came down to availability as well as form/function.

All that said, they quoted me at ~$3400 for parts, which includes the diff drop, UCAs, front coilovers/rear shocks, bump stops, and leaf pack. The labor for all that is sitting at ~$900 right now. Oh and +500 for ECGS bushing and installation and of course the alignment once it's all bolted on there.

Once it's all done I'll gladly post an update with my thoughts. I have high hopes for the setup though!

That's a heck of a nice thing to offer. If it was closer to me ( I'm guessing you're in Cecil County?) I'd snag it in a heart beat as my Taco is ready for an oil change.
