Welcome to the forum and the Maryland thread :hattip: Thank you for your service! I'm a huge first responder supporter. I have BPD family and my niece just got accepted to BCoFD.

There's a place in Forest Hill called Grimm Auto Works. I recommend them to everyone. It's a father and son operation and they are down to earth decent people.

    http://www.grimmautoworks.com/

I like that they are an authorized Discount Tire retailer. It doesn't say it on their site but if you look for one on the DT site, they come up. They came highly recommended to me by a co-worker.

The next time we go to the beach we are gonna try a AirBnB simply because it's easier to find a dog friendly place.

I wish we could take ours but she’s old and hates riding in cars... and my truck. No matter how many times we’ve taken her to “good” places she still is all anxious and shakes...

Try either Hemp Oil or Children's Benadryl. Phoenix was like that the first three times but now she's much better. Now she wants to ride with her head out the window at 55 mph.

The silly rabbit caused me to lose a vent visor the last time, trying to hang out. I have a spare but had to buy replacement decals for it. So now I am looking for some sort of window guard. I am looking at those racing net things. I want something I can put in there and still open/close the window if it rains while I'm driving. Something she can still poke her nose out of but not half her body. I use a regular 6' leash wrapped around all three headrests and I made it so it doesn't adjust to either side by locking it in with a zip tie. It is just long enough for her to get from one window to the other without going any further than her head out. I want the nets so I can stop using the leash and be 100% sure she stays in. I'm going to remove the entire rear seat and seat backs setup like @rnish and @EatSleepTacos did and build a wooden, carpet covered platform for her. I haven't figured out where I will store the seat. And yes, I lock the windows, because you know dogs........they are pretty smart. I tried those seatbelt harness things but she gets so wound up she spins herself into a knot.

Not exactly Harford County, but the Tire Rack in Delaware isn't too far away and you can do a 'will call' pickup.

That might be worth a try but at her age she’s set in her ways lol.
I would like her to not fear car rides though.

Hell, I have to tie a pork chop around my neck to get my basset in my truck...a trick I remembered from being a lonely, ugly child trying to get the dog next door to play with me...:(

The pup loves popping his head out the window as well. I lock the windows halfway down to limit the chances of him flying out the window. Haha

All my dogs have always loved car rides. Original reason I bought my 4runner was for a dog hauler. These 2 loved the power rear window feature.

wife and I go off season a good bit to Dewey and Rehoboth. There is a Hyatt Place in Dewey that is dog friendly and very reasonable in the off season.

No issues at all. The came in about 5 days too. They just slap a shipping label and send them out.

Is anyone here good with Outlook? Even though they go to my spam folder I get tired of seeing the same crap, sometimes multiple times per day, I would like to block by topic or keywords if possible.
    Thanks

Well, it might help take the edge off so she doesn't get so freaked out. Another thing you can try is very short trips. Like literally around the block. I read you should walk them for a while (no less than 10 min) before the ride.

To be honest though, I could never bring myself to force it if she was seriously rejecting it. Phoenix never had the life she does now. She is spoiled rotten with us. She's got her head on my lap as I type this though with my arm resting on her back to support the phone. So my guess is, even though she was scared to ride in the truck at first she learned it was worth it just to be with us rather than staying home by herself.

    The feeling is mutual though.
