Morning guys! I've just about made up my mind to send the Taco down the road. I've never really liked the thing, the seats are killing my back. CarMax offered more than the loan payoff, and damn near what I paid for the truck last year, so I could literally walk away from it and put a few bucks in my pocket. If I sell it to them, I'll have the cap up for sale.

I love my 1st gen Tacomas. And I'm a big guy. I logged a bit over 400miles on it this past weekend and I was comfortable. And that was with my dog in the ext cab area lol. I made her a bed back there.

Just make sure you're not overpaying for your replacement vehicle since pricing is screwy with supply chain all messed up.

Selling my set of amber Lp4 Pro’s. They’ve only been on the truck for about 3 weeks. Less than an hour of “on” time. Decided to go a different route with pillar lights. Paid $850. Looking to get $750. Lmk if interested or spread the word!

Thanks for the insight. I didn't do it yet, but in the next few days. I was looking at NADA trade in values, called my credit union for values and it looks like carmax is lowballing me by a few thousand. I will wash my hands of the Taco and just run around in the old faithful 3rd gen 4runner while I look for an econobox for daily driving duties. It looks like from my job researching, I'm going to be having to do a lot of driving to stay within my field, there's no work for me around where I live and I have no desire to move any closer back towards baltimore. I like it here in northern Carroll County.

@68dave.. I wish this thing was a bit more comfortable, I would like to be able to keep it. I've made some seat risers for the back side of the seat and it helped a bit, but any more than 2 hrs in the seat and my back is screaming and my legs are getting tingly. I don't have those issues when driving the 4runner, even though the 'runner is physically smaller. Back when I was young and happy, I had a '94 reg cab 4x4 Toyota truck that I logged a few hundred thousand miles in, the bench seat never bothered me. There's just something strange about the seats in the 2nd gen Tacos. ( at least for me )

Have you checked out Carvana? Maybe they’ll give you a better deal. Though I think that once your given a price from one place, they all know and give the same.

Driving more today, my RPMs only go that high 45-5K when I floor it from a stop. Normal driving they shift much lower and are still smooth. Even when I floor it, the truck shifts smooth.

Try Heritage Toyota in Catonsville. They are giving pretty good change to buy peoples vehicles.

Heritage is probably the worst dealership I ever went to. One of the sales associates referred to me as Yao ming (I'm asian) and the sales manager pretty much stormed out of the room during the negotiation process.

I’m sorry to hear they treated you like that. if it’s any consolation me and my brother really took it to them at the dealership. They just paid my brother $27,500.00 for his 2017 Tacoma sport with 80,000 miles with a bent frame and bowed bed and they knew it all before hand. So if anybody’s looking at a 2017 sport blazing blue with around 80,000 miles and fox shocks don’t buy it. Oh and he did not buy a vehicle from them either.

Def called them out on it. Then they knocked off $1.5k the truck. Took that offer and went to Antwerpen, showed them the price and within 2 seconds they said they can beat it by $500.

Not tall at all. I'm probably 5'8" on a good day. hahah. I do like to play basketball though.

Just curiously, did they do anything for you? I'm looking at them, and they look sexy, I'm just curious as to the benefit of ambers, especially ones with, what is that, a spotlight handle?

That’s not a spotlight handle it’s for his GMRS radio. It’s the Midland Ghost antenna.
