You’ll want camp spots off of Kasecamp road. They have a boat launch there too. Those spots are usually the first to fill up but you can call up the rangers office and ask about them and possibly reserving them. They will be able to help you.

cell service in green ridge is about 75%, so long as you stay out of the deep hollows, you can find service within a short walk or drive

 

Have you checked out Sleepy Creek in WV? They have campsites on the lake and from what I've heard from numerous people great fishing.

Haven't looked into sleepy creek is it like green ridge with the forest roads to get to camp?

What's the camping like, first come first serve pick a spot and set up kind of stuff?

 

Not sure, Its close to my cabin so I never camped there. We just went there on a day trip. Google it for details. Its known for its trails, camping & fishing.

Best bet is to call their ranger station for more info. I just read that theres 3 separate campgrounds in Sleepy Creek along with a privately owned campground with full amenities including cabin rentals. Imo Sleepy Creek trails are more fun & challenging compared to Green Ridge, and it has a lake.

 

A TW Sleepy Creek trail meet would be fun.

 

Well if sleepy creek is more difficult trail wise I'll stick to green ridge to test my legs on the trail. It'll be my first real off road trip. Other than the forest roads we see for my SAR training

 

I've only done 1 trail ride so far. If you go out to green ridge let me know how it is for a first timer. I'd like to test my trail legs some more too.

 

I think we ended up getting 5 inches here. Still pretty windy. Hope everyone else faired well today.

I’ve heard of guys taking different shifts. One guy has a line out and another sleeps. Also heard of people leaving a line out in the water with just a weight while they sleep. Honestly never tried it since I hate surf fishing but I don’t think they are that strict. Camp sites are easy to come by in the winter though
