If you think the paint looks good after a wash your good to go lol. Still need to clay bar it though so the ceramic goes directly on the clean clear coat so it sticks.

I have heard stories like this but like Bigfoot, I have yet to see it for myself.

Hell, I was going to wash the truck, then just dump the bottle into a 5 gal bucket of warm water, mix it up, put it in spray bottles and mist the entire truck until it's completely coated, let it sit, then hose it off and dry it.

I figure if Palmolive lemon scented can make it look as it does after sitting all fall, winter, then spring into summer then this would be 10x more better. Hell I expect it to last 3 years easy. :burp:

Ok, final offer. You can come up and do this while I watch the pooch, play with the youngin' and stay out of your way. Heck, I'll even make burgers, and salads. No beer until you're finished. I don't want some drunken' half assed job.

Oh! I wonder how it would be on my riding mower!!!? It's missing so many numbers off the hood from running it into shrubrubery I don't even know what model it is anymore. :anonymous: I could clay bar that and ceramic coat it. That would be cool af.

Seriously though. The front end of the truck and car, and my wheels is all that will see this application. I am not a fan of waxes and polishes simply because once you start you have to keep up with it. I use to have the time for all that but these days, well, it doesn't even get rinsed off unless it rains...........:pout:

I ran out of time again this weekend and didn't get everything done on my list. Oh, and to top it all off, my MRI this past Friday was great. Yea, the doctor that administered the contrast before let the cat out of the bag, and confirmed my fears. The pain I am in constantly is definitely due to another tear. Yup, I will need another rotator cuff operation, or live like this. Which is not safe for anyone or anything around me at times. I mean, even before this no said ever "boy, that Rob guy is so patient, and so calm all the time". But now............there were a couple times I got in-between me and myself and thought I was gonna get my ass kicked.

Damn Rob, sorry to hear that… how long before you get that surgery? Hopefully you can deal and manage the pain till then.

I’d be really interested to see how it would work being applied like that. My guess is not great… some companies make those in spray form already and the difference is the concentration of the chemical. For Adam’s it’s 40% for the new formula bottle like you have and 7% for the older formula spray bottle.

You could try your spray solution on the Moyer first to see how it goes lol. You might still need to wipe it off.

I also like the idea of these that you don’t have to wax/seal every 3-6 months… that gets tiring after a few times.

Thanks Gentlemen, it's all good. I am likely for sure 600% positive that I 100% did this doin' dumb shit I shouldn't have. Or maybe it was the day I was playing with the dogs not long ago and rolled over on it to get up. That's not dumb shit.

So yea, I say y'all come over now so we can get use to a routine I am comfortable with. It doesn't matter to me who does what of course. I don't want to be that guy/boss.

Because of the great insurance plan I have I will likely have to wait until the next plan year, so we will see. Or not get paid to be off is also an option.

If I was more like @Jim=2015 TRD PRO @pdenajim @rnish @greengen1 @Fire Arrow or that @68dave guy I would just retire too.

Ok, so I need some help deciding what new tires and maybe wheels I want for the car. I'm not opposed to going up in size as long as max is a +1. Low profile is definitely in of the question. Spinners maybe not. It's Debs car. I also need to fix some body areas in the plastic fender up front. I can handle that myself easily and might buy a cheap airbrush to play around with doing it.

It (the gouges) looks worse on film, but the tire looks like this in real life.

So, all season, touring, passenger, and will even consider higher performance all season. Just need something as close to the stock size as possible.

I would do a deep clean of your engine bay including a degreaser, and then monitor. Have you checked your valve cover gaskets? When were they last replaced? Are they an issue for other 4runners? Maybe @AR15xAR10 or @greengen1 would know more? I would guess that the corner where youre supposed to put FIPG on the valve covers, drips all the way down. If your oil pan looks oily, then it might be something above that. Gravity ;)

Sounds like the symptoms of the rear valve cover gasket half moon leak

Valve cover gaskets are good. Did them in 2014? Recently checked all the bolts and tightened where needed. Cleaned the surrounding areas and no issues since. I’m beginning to wonder if it actually has something to do with the Fumoto valve or the gasket itself…

I didn't see your previous photos. But I doubt that the fumoto would leak oil, and the oil would go up to the pan gasket. Usually it's the opposite.. oil going down

Well I’m sort of led to believe it might not necessarily be coming from that protruding fipg at the pan, and here’s why. There’s no oil on or around the pan itself aside from that particular area. It’s just around the drain plug/gasket area. When I remove the black clip on the Fumoto valve I saw some oil on there too. So I’m watching closely to see. When I left work today I looked under there and absolutely nothing— no leaks, drips or otherwise.

How could it be the valve if you just did that?

the valve cover gaskets usually last only about 100k on the 3.4s in my experience so it is definitely time again if 2014 was 8 years ago…

I’m wondering if it’s a faulty gasket (I used OEM instead of the supplied fiber one) or if I didn’t tighten the valve tight enough. I’m afraid of over tightening it and running the risk of stripping the pan, which happened many years ago and was a very not fun time going through that to get it fixed. I think I’m right around 100K on the vcg’s currently so it may be a pending maintenance piece, although they don’t appear to be currently leaking

Word. Will do. I’m starting to convince myself to ditch the Fumoto and to go buy a new OEM drain plug tomorrow and calling it a day. No visible seep/leaks to report this evening, so that’s a plus!
