If you've made it into the 300s, I believe it's a goodie and can easily make it to 500. If the T100 I drive made it to 377 I'm sure with you taking care of yours will go forever man. This T100 is not exactly treated nice. Transmission fluid hasn't even been touched. Most of the oil changes were way overdue. And this truck has been redlined more times than I can remember. She still wakes up for work every day. Hauling ladders and equipment.

That's definitely reassuring to hear. It will definitely take some years before I get there, even to 400K. But I baby it and always have. I've wheeled it in the past but nothing extreme. I've wayyyyy ahead of time on all fluid changes. And I do yearly drain and fills of my transmission. I hope it keeps on going for many years to come. Its a big investment for me and I'm proud of my work.

 

I've never heard of a factory SC for the 5th gen so I would assume it's an aftermarket one. Toyota did offer a factory SC for the 3rd gens though.

Other truck. Engine swap was on my 2004 $500 TRD, this is my 2004 $600 TRD that i bought from a fellow Tacomaworld member. The one I bought with a seized 3.4 (now my lifted one) only had 147k miles on it. Owner neglected a oil leak and ran it low. I saw that the motor was oil soaked near the jiffy lube oil filter, filter was loose. Previous owner never had the leak diagnosed and just kept on driving it. Back in 2014 I installed a 69k mile Arizona salvage yard 3.4 out of a rolled 03 prerunner.

 

I've got his number in case you do the pick up for me.

 

Not this time but I have a few other times but on my Harley, beautiful riding there.

 

Magnuson makes them for the Toyotas, sometimes sold as a TRD add-on accessory ( from what I could gather, reading about them.) They were the 'rage' on t4r. o r g when anyone would drop the coin to add some more ponies under the hood.

 

The best part was, if it was installed by the dealer… you retained all your factory warranty. If memory serves right, it dated back to the 1st Gen S-Runner. I tried to get them to do it with my 3rd Gen back in 2020 and they said Toyota wan not offering the upgrades anymore. The chargers are like $6k and about another $3500 to have installed by Toyota. I wish I was able to have it done… would have been much easier to roll all that coin into the finance of the truck, rather than shovel it all out of pocket. Either way, a rare and awesome find! Especially on a T4R!
