That's crazy man! Do what I did. Downsize everything you dont absolutely need, sell your MD house, pay off everything so you're debt free and move to your cabin here on the mountain. If your cost of living is low you don't have to work as much.

 

Thompson is now Ourisman, doubt if there is any difference. They didn't have a large selection of 4Runners, and advertise a 1-1.5k mark up on incoming 4Rs. They had a base TRD OR 4R back in November with an advertised price of 1k off. People I talked to said that was the price they would sell for, I never went in to see how it would go.

 

Thanks for the input. I’ll probably stick with Jones, after making them hopefully try for my business. I like the toyota service department there and they don’t try to put things over… anymore. Asking the service manager to show you something in the guide one time fixes that

 

My uncle was the service manager for Thompson Dodge/Jeep for many years. Back in 2013 my brother was shopping for a new tacoma 4x4. Our uncle called his buddy, a sales manager at Thompson Toyota and told him his nephew was coming in and to give him the "family member price". Jones Junction beat that price on the same identical Tacoma by 2 grand. Thompson couldn't even match the JJ price.

Thats pretty crazy but then again, Jerry’s couldn’t match Jones either.

Besides the Subaru dealer side, I’ve had great luck/experience with them and will continue going there. The free oil changes are a plus too.

 

I've bought Subarus from their Subaru store and have always been offered competitive pricing. I don't even see them list Toyota truck prices any longer. I can't recall the last time I've seen them list a new access cab Off Road, they use to get some SRs and SR5s in. They do move quick. I'd take a 4Runner Pro at a discount if they offered that kind of deal.

 

Ooh! Subarus talk too! I had a 06 spec.b - though bigger turbo (vf32 i think), inj, tmic, catless up and down and about 380awhp at 23psi. With blizzaks was near unstoppable in the snow of michigan

I think it was my age that was the problem at that point. I was 25 I think… trading in my 06 Taco TRD Sport with 150k miles.

 

Maybe your judgement was in question you wanted to get rid of a Tacoma.

I should have got one of these when they were around that color looked great and I don't think I have ever seen one on the road.

 

My place is to small to live in full time I need a place more like yours to do that.

 

Yours is the perfect size for you 2 and the pup. Watch some cabin videos on YouTube, they live in some small shed sized but well equipped cabins.

 

I just got back to the cabin after a trail ride and firewood run. Now coffee with the wife in front of the woodstove to warm up.

 

Ok let me correct myself my place isn’t built for winter use and definitely isn’t set up to grow old in and I want a flatter lot with a garage or barn .And I am not into tiny living need more space for my kids and there future kids to visit.

 

My place was smaller than yours until the addition was added. It was originally just a hunting camp. It was the 1 living room area with the 1 bedroom. No bathroom, well or septic that's why there's a outhouse on the property. Back bedroom, master bath, utility room and half bath were all added to the existing cabin. But unfortunately for you because of your land a addition wouldn't be as easy. But the underneath could be enclosed & insulated for winter use. That was done to mine because of the addition of plumbing many years after it was built. My cabin sits on block stilts. My cabin is older than yours, just been upgraded and built onto.
