Finally found out what my rub at full lock (going over bumps) was.

Apparently there is some sort of catch thing on the back of the hub and on the LCA there is an oppositely shaped crescent to fill the notch on the back of the hub. You can see the rust spot from the last time it rubbed (weeks ago), i've ben avoiding full lock until i found the noise

Its when going over hard break overs and bumps like driveway entrances, speed bumps, etc. and you usually have to be moving pretty good to hear it. I know for sure that is where my noise is because its the only evidence of rubbing on the entire steering assembly.

My 04 4runner did the same thing. Made the same noise.
Fuck, i miss that truck! :(

When you do the suspension overhaul put in a 1/4 inch spacer on the driver side only, that will correct the lean. ill give that a try, most of my full lock turns are in parking lots so im not moving very fast, and there's not really any huge bumps.

Got a call from the dealer, apparently the noise is from one of the two different Cats. The entire inside had "melted" and that was clogging the system.

Lol at least it's covered by the warranty. Which I guess is lucky for the EPA. I was planning on doing a cat delete and just having a shop weld up a "heat shield" on a straight pipe to make the BS emissions happy

Those are the things that people use when things break on a vehicle under 2 years old.... Don't make them like they use to.

DO it. :spy: :dual: It's the highest point I can find in our trucks within reason. I mean, I looked at running a hose all the way into the cab and then up a pilar, mounting it up near the rear taillight in the ceiling liner.

Another spot I looked at was when I snorkel, going to put a dust bowl (fish bowl) on the top of mine. Could also run a hose into the snorkel/ tap it that way if the engine intake is compromised.... well.,

At least since it's covered, I can now get back to my 50,000 mile deep maintenance plans. Still need to find a good clutch for my truck.
