Doing well. Sounds like fun. Is that a new baby since the last one you were getting ready for when we met up at @Backdoc place? What’s the business?

Maybe a month or so, probably around Easter, whenever that was. Said he was good overall but busy. Maybe he’ll come back to us one day

I called the company yesterday and asked about 2nd gen tacomas…the gent indicated that they will most likely produce one for them, or an adapter one could use to fit the system on a 2nd gen. Now to tell my wife that this is a better investment than taking the kids to Disney…

Alright people… have a bit of knowledge followed by a question for ya regarding tires.

So I bought a set of 18x9 wheels with a ZERO offset. I’ve found a set of tires for sale fairly local… Cooper Discover AT3 XLT's E4’s in 275/70-18. Which in brand new spec look like 33.2” tires. These are used, but only have about 14k miles on them of normal road use. So let’s just call them, minus a little wear, 33’s. I’m currently set up with the Eibach 2.0 adjustable coil over kit, 1.5” rear lift, Camburg UCA’s and SpiderTrax 1.25” spacers all around. Tires are a pretty decent price… $800 for the set. Better than $1200+ for new. Might be able to work that down a little yet.

Now the loaded question… will they fit? How much lift do I need to crank the front up to? And will a CMC be necessary or any other cutting for that matter?

How much front lift does that suspension setup give you?

I was able to fit 33” (285/75/16) Yokohama g003 mud terrains with zero trimming and that was with 2” of lift up front. If that gives you a frame of reference.

Perfect, just what I needed… someone with 33’s and height and fitment info. Currently, it’s sitting at exactly 2” of lift in the front. But I believe Eibach states that I can gain another .5-.75” in the front with a “simple” turn of the collar. I’ve read on other people’s experiences, that they were able to get 3” out of the 2.0 kit if cranked all the way up. But I’m sure that amount of spring compression really kills the ride. Not to mention the stress on the CV boots and fins rubbing. Maybe a CV “boot slide” would be a good thing to consider? I also want to knock out the ECGS bushing while at it. I have the bushing, just not the puller or installation tools.

Cool, then I feel like you would be good. I will say that I did not test them off road for rubbing before I switched tires, but on road there was no rubbing at full lock.

The only difference with my setup is that my wheels are -10mm offset so I can’t say for sure if you would have any issues rubbing on the UCA’s. The Yoko’s are allegedly the exact same height as the XLTs you’re looking at, so it should be a pretty exact comparison other than the wheel offset.

Yea, it’s mainly a mall crawler on weekends and soon to be pontoon hauler… I’m not worried about off-roading much these days. I beat the hell out of my old truck doing a bunch of dumb stuff, cost a fortune breaking stuff too… I’m trying to keep this one nice for now.

Hopefully with the 1.25” spacers, that’ll help move the wheels out a bit further for clearance as well… at least from the UCA’s.

Yeah I feel pretty confident you’ll be just fine if you’re staying on the road.

Those XLTs are so nice, I’ve been considering them for my next set as well.

If they'd combine that with something like a TopperLift to make it sleep-able, that'd be legitly awesome
