I thought the brake fluid doesn't need to be flushed.... :notsure:
I thought you just add if it leaks or gets low. I hate bleeding brakes anyway :(

Your shoes have probably never been done.....that may be the problem more than anything else. How old are your rotors and pads?

I did get my coolant and filled it up. I only needed like 1/10th of a jug to bring it back to full. I also ran around and made sure everything circulated and that i have not temp issues or oil residue in my coolant. I also made sure i have no leaks anywhere or any cracked coolant hoses.

According to a article I read brake fluid should be occasionally flushed because of moisture build up (water) Ive never done it completely before either but I did put a new master cylinder on last year and cycled all the fluid out by repeated bleeding

Previous owner said brakes were done, but I didn't know much about cars then, so I didn't get any specifics as to what was done. So I don't know when anything was serviced

Nothing written in the maintenance log either? :(

Mine had nothing written in it but it was only 24900 miles and i knew the guy had a toyota service plan so it was all good. I've written almost everything mechanical that i have done since i got it.

You can always pull the drums and check. Mine were out of adjustment and i didn't know until i pulled the drum and the little springs went flying. That was at ~33k

Best bet would be hit everything, Fluids for front and rear dif, transfer case, Trans, coolant, and oil. Check the air filter possibly change out for a reusable one, check the brakes, if they look worn I'd change out the brakes and the fluid just so you know what you are starting with. Mark your mileage and keep up with it from your mark.

DO NOT GO TO THE DEALER FOR THE FLUIDS!

They will rape you with sandpaper and salt!

If you go on Advanced Auto, TRT30 should be a 30% off promo code, you can do in store pick up for free. Having a flat baseline to keep up with your maintenence will suck dumping into it off the bat but will help you do proper PMCS on your ride and keep it out of the shop for repairs longer.

I had a reputable local shop that i trust do my driveline. Its all synthetic and has the proper additives.

Only fluid i have ever bought from the dealer is their toyota pink coolant.

I run strictly valvoline or mobil 1 engine oils. I used stuff from advanced auto for power steering fluid. I have never touched my brake fluid, have never had a need to.

What additives? From everything I've read on here, mobile synthetic gear oil is all you need.

no additive = better traction off road, but a slight risk of a shutter with tight turns.

redline heavy shock proof gear oil w/ no additive = killer off road with an LSD.

I assumed it was a given that anything with limited slip, required limited slip additives. Its fine. I appreciate the information either way.
