My RCI sliders arrive today. How was the install on them? Did you put anything between the frame and the bracket for rust protection?

Install is straight forward and relatively easy. I used a piece of 2x10 on my floor jack. The drivers side is a little involved with moving the brake lines and a bracket but if you watch a YouTube video its easy. I sprayed a layer of Woolswax on the contact points.

Has anyone regeared? What shop in Maryland would you suggest. I am not having any luck finding a place.

Adam (the owner) and I know each other. His X used to be my office manager at my office. I talked to him about it and he is a possibility but I was wondering if there were other options. I talked to a person on the phone and sent an email quote request to a place in Annapolis and never heard back from them. Another place in Baltimore County wanted over $2K in labor.

 

There's always the option of a mod day?

Adam took care of me, helping with re-booting, but then when the axle snapped, he swapped in the replacement and charged me no labor cost.

 

There is no way I am attempting a regear with my mechanical ability.

That's the guy that did the Saf-T cap install on my 4runner frame rail. His pricing was decent, he seemed like a good guy.

There's a place near Whitemarsh called 'Perry Hall power train', the guy does driveshaft and axle rebuilds. He is very meticulous, just a bit hard to deal with. Basically just drop off what needs to be fixed and wait for him to call you when it's done, don't offer suggestions as to what might be wrong.

Mornin'. Next three days is a teams course - Strategic Thinking and Decision Making. I don't yet know if it's "Strategic "thinking-and-decision making"" or Strategic thinking. AND Decision-making. I really get not-much out of these types of distance-learning. I 'strategically' made the 'decision' to be optimistic!
