You'd need to space the plating to give better bullet protection. Maybe an inch out would divert a bit or a lot of the penetration.

This morning I trimmed some tree limbs that was hanging over power lines on a old guy's property here on the mountain. While talking with him we started talking about old cars. And he tells me he has a old 55 out back. It's a tubbed pearl white 55 Pontiac 2dr wagon race car. Been sitting in the trailer for about 15years. Cool piece. It amazes me all the old stuff just sitting around up here.

    Wanna be disgusted?

Shopping for car insurance. 3 cars. 1 with collision and all that, 2 with only liability and comprehensive. Between 2 cars, I drive 6 miles/day to work and back - on a military base - combined, and an occasional weekend road trip. 3rd car is at college with my 21yo son, who drives it around between his mom's house and school (15 miles each way?).

I pay $320/month as-is. My quote request was for the same coverage. No accidents / tickets by anyone.

"Good morning Darin! My name is Alexa from StateFarm! I’ve worked up your personalized auto quote for your three vehicles! Only $820/mo, let me know what you think! Thanks for your interest in StateFarm, I look forward to working with you!"

    emphasis mine.
The audacity. They want nearly $10k/year to insure three cars with a combined value of maybe $35k (one 2008 Tacoma, 2015 228i, 2013 mistu wagon/thing). When I called them on it in my reply they tried to justify it with "Well, everything is more expensive nowadays; costs are higher..."

25% of the value of the vehicles, combined, ANUALLY. The only car i have financed is not a ton more than half the price of that monthly insurance quote.

    "...i just cannot even."

I pay $85 a month full coverage on my 4runner & Tacoma with Erie. But my vehicles are older and I'm in WV. Wife & i couldn't believe how much our insurance dropped when we moved from Baltimore to WV. 2 year vehicle registration is alot cheaper too.

Not even worth asking for a justification. The world we were raised to believe in - even possibly living in - is long gone in many aspects.

Woah. I pay $230 I think a month for 3 cars full coverage. 2 drivers. ‘23 Tacoma, ‘12 Odyssey, 08 Camry. Clean record though. That’s also in KY suburb of Cincinnati.

    Darin,

    That is insane!

So, "Like a good neighbor..." NOT!

I'm all kinds of bundled with USAA and pay just under $300/month for Full-Coverage Auto & Property.

Wife has 2017 Elantra and I've got my 2021 Sport...we're both over 50 and have been with USAA since 1998.

    Have you tried The General?

That’s is absurd!! I have SF as well. 3 vehicles… 2020 Tacoma with full coverage, 2009 Chevy Trailblazer and a 1998 Camry both on comprehensive plus liability. As well as 2023 pontoon boat and trailer (full coverage). I pay just about $185 a month!! I don’t know who your agent is, but they should be fired!! I use Danielle Leonard out of Frederick. Give her a call, she is amazing!

Maybe they meant 820 for 6 months… or the insurance is really like 200 a mont but the agent gets the difference.. :anonymous:

I was thinking it could be a good Uber vehicle for the city.

Wow.... I just switched to Erie from the lizard company, I got more coverage amounts with smaller deductibles. The T4R is now fully covered along with the Taco, the GMC is liability only. ( I was surprised that they actually covered it) I'm at about $1600 for the year if I pay in full at renewal. They also did really good on my homeowners, dropped the amount by about 40% compared to the previous provider and I got more coverage with smaller deductibles.
