One of these days, I will pass you in my Taco! Looks like you had nice weather for the boat.

 

I was surprised how well my buddy's VW dune buggy kept up with the SxS's in the trails and on the hills yesterday. He was bouncing it over downed trees & rocks.

Last night I did one of the oldest things i've done - saw Lyle Lovett at WolfTrap. Gorgeous facility btw - highly recommend. Jenn bought the 'picnic deal' from the on-site restaurant. Do not recommend. Vastly overpriced and is not something we couldn't have picked up from a deli at a grocery.

show was good though - he had a WADC Symphony orchestra behind him for more than half the show. The audio was mixed nearly perfectly - may be the best-sounding show I've seen.

 

I’ve been meaning to post about this and am not sure if I forgot to rotate for a while or maybe the dealer didn’t do it last time but last tim I noticed that my rear tires were much more worn than the fronts. My last rotation about 5K miles I could tell the backs were more worn. Now if what I read is right, I’m stuck for a while swapping sides till the backs are about even with the fronts. I rotated them today and here’s what they’re looking like.
Anyone else have a thought?
These tires have about 20k miles on them. I probably drove them about 1-2k miles without a proper alignment in total.

 

My guess is they weren't actually rotating them. That's too big a difference to be just random.

 

Yeah, it could have been on me too lol. Usually I tell them I’ll rotate my own tires.
I also have different stickers on my tires to do a quick visual to see if they were rotated.

 

@hyrule_trd I second this. That’s why I stopped going to the Toyota dealership for service before my free oil changes were done. I didn’t trust dealerships to start out with, but I figured I would be able to get through the free 4 services without any issues.

On the second service interval I caught them lying about rotating my tires. Never again will I go to the dealership.

Those look like tires from two different trucks, that’s wild.

 

Im guessing that
Truck miles 5K put on those tires
11422k oil change and dealer or I missed tire rotation
I don’t see anything in my records from 11-20k
So I missed rotating them sometime between there.

Yeah that’s definitely the biggest difference I’ve seen on tires that are on the same truck lol

I noticed that I made an all but fatal tire error myself not long ago… after installing a lift kit, I guess I rushed the alignment too quickly. After the suspension had settled, I’m assuming it threw the alignment back out. My DF tire has a large amount of negative camber wear going on. Haven’t missed any rotations, but I guess hauling the boat around every weekend for the past couple months and a good bit of added breaking force being exerted on the front end really is burning through those soft minivan (factory) tires. Sadly, I can’t just go get another alignment quite yet. I’m about to make some alterations to the suspension again and it’ll require one then as well.

Morning yall, back to reality

 

Sucks and i should have kept a better eye on things. It’s surprising how quickly the tires can wear down.

I was/am debating if I should figure out what new thread depth is and try and get two new replacement tires. I’d keep the worn ones as spares since I don’t have a 255/85 spare at this time.

 

That’s not a bad idea because the the “good” tire in that picture you posted looks almost new. Only problem is the price of those ST Maxx’s.

I checked the other day and the price of one 255/85/16 tire is more than my monthly truck payment……
