Prices vary. I bought a mid grade unit, I didn't want the cheapest.

We got one for my mom. She actually uses it for arthritis pain in her hand and it helps.

I absolutely love mine. It was a must have back when I was a gym rat at Gold's Gym.

    Mornin' all.

On a whim, I booked a 5 day trip to Iceland over next weekend. Anyone been? I'm building the itinerary and it looks pretty cool.

My family members have been. Said its worth hiring the guides over there if you can. Also said it's the strangest most beautiful place they've ever been. They rented a car to be able to drive around the loop.

I've been wanting to go since I found it on the map as a kid. #jealous

    Photos will be required!!

NICE! We're planning one for winter of '24 after I'm out of school. We're doing a 10-day self-guided tour in the winter to circumnavigate the island and see if we can't get us some northern lights

No I haven’t even given one a thought… but I am now! When I get home from work, I’ll dive a bit deeper. Totally agree about the stretching… the more I stretch through the day, the better the day goes.

    @photodoc

I have not seen a chiropractor yet… I know, should have been one of the first appointments I made after the surgeon. My wife used to work for a physical therapist for many years, so she’s knows a ton and has been helping me at home a lot with it. But yes, a chiropractor is on the list of priorities… I’ve just been very concerned with getting back to work and having an income flowing again.

I mean I am biased for sure but also know what the research says and a chiropractor is very likely your best best to getting back to work and out of pain.

Good afternoon everyone. I stayed home today to rest some more, I missed Thursday and Friday last week. I got some type of crud ( but not the crud, 3 negative tests made me sure about that) I went in yesterday and toughed it out but in all reality, I should have just stayed home. It just hurts the bottom line, working as a contractor gives me no benefits/PTO, ect..

I did a packet of Theraflu last night, it gave me the most relief since this started. I was treating it w/ Allegra-D and other allergy meds, convinced it was seasonal allergies .

I just went for 7 days in July. I followed this, https://iceland.nordicvisitor.com/travel-deals/self-drive-tours/express-iceland/175/, as a general guide but didn't adhere to everything in it. The eastern part of the island didn't hold much interest for me except for puffin viewing so I largely skipped through that.

A couple members on here asked me to keep a eye out for any property deals here on the mountain. Here's 6.5 unrestricted acres for $25k. I haven't looked at it personally yet but the ad says no neighbors in sight.

Unfortunately I went to multiple appointments at 2 different highly recommended chiropractors (1 in Towson & 1 here in WV) with no relief from my sciatic pain. And my insurance didn't help with those chiropractor appointments, had to pay out of pocket. Surgery then physical therapy is what I needed. Hopefully taco1004 has better luck than I had.

Everyone responds differently. I have had people that had been going to PT for 4 months with no relief come to me and get better in a few visits and I have had people get no relief with me. Most people get better. As @photodoc can attest, we usually see the surgical failures and the surgeons usually see our failures so we think each other is the problem where in reality it all depends on how the patient responds. I stand by the logic that surgery should be the last option. Unfortunately a back surgery often leads to another back surgery down the road.

Surgery was my last option. As mentioned I went to chiropractors, I also did pt 3 days a week for 6 weeks then 2 rounds of injections. Nothing eased my sciatic pain. L5/S1 disc protrusion was my issue. Surgery then more pt is what it took for me to be pain free. Physical therapist, surgeon & both chiropractors all told me my back was "tight" & "compressed". Heavy dead lifts, heavy squats & standing on a concrete shop floor all day bent forward over a engine bay for 27years didn't help. Now I do daily stretches & core exercises. I'm doing my best to keep my back loose & limber, I don't want to go thru that pain again.

Concrete floor work is hell on a back. My brother is suffering with knee pain and back pain from a career in a body shop. Just be careful on your toys up there in the hills. Keep stretching and keep your core strong and you should be good. Good honest living up on the mountain breathing that fresh air will help you as well.

The fresh air is nice. I feel for your brother, body shop work is even harder on the body than mechanical work.

It may be drizzling but still a nice evening to sit on the porch with my pup and a glass of lemonade.
