I've moved fewer than 20 times in the previous 30 years.

Once to and from Germany, then twice back in my home town, then to and from korea, then four times local, then to AL, then a local move, then to MI, then a local move, then to Germany, then OK, then a local move, then here, and I will have maybe two, tops, more moves until I retire.

*Note - it's usajobs.GOV, not .com. Patience and understanding. And knowing people helps - but the best chance is to ensure your resume focuses on the tasks you were given (previous jobs), the choices you made, and what happened as a result of your efforts. Those types are easiest for hiring folks to understand, vs specific, detailed duties of each job.

For example:

"My job was to manage the office for X-brand company. The first challenge facing me was prolonged TPS reporting procedures. I streamlined the process by requiring cover sheets to every TPS report. As a result, TPS reporting times dropped by 50%."

To add to the (very good) recommendations, make sure you follow the resume instructions to a t. They ask for weird stuff, such as hours worked per week, etc. Usajobs.gov utilizes filtering systems that will render you unqualified for a job if your resume is not up to par, before a hiring manager evens views the resume. You could be perfect for the job, but if you don’t get to the hiring manager, well you ain’t getting the job.

And damn man, that’s a lot of moving. Puts my multiple cross country moves to shame.

 

Adding in to make sure you include everything it asks for. Even for government employees, if it asks for their job description form and it’s not included (but HR has them) they will kick em back. Just using that as an example.

My phone was annoying me today. Every time I wrote “no” it autocorrected to “food.”

Figured out at some point, my son thought it would be funny to change that on me… funny kid that one…

 

You can’t make this S up!! What kind of phone is it and how did he do it?? I need to do this to my wife… but it’s gonna be a lot better than “food”

 

It’s an iPhone. If you search auto correct or text replacement in settings you can find it. The when you are in the text replacement you can click on the plus sign. Then you can have any thing replaced with something else

 

I'm leading a group of atv's for a night ride. Beautiful cool weather for it.
