Now this is a beautiful site… love waking up to truck porn!!

 

These new Grand HighLanders are pretty sweet! I mean, I’d never buy one for myself… but wife is in the market for a new vehicle and has been for a while. She was about 99.9% fixed on a new T4R until I took her to see a GHL in person. We swung by Koons the other day and they had this off white one sitting on the lot. It was unlocked so she jumped in and started playing. It was a non-hybrid XLE trim. I was stocked shocked! I thought we were for sure going to be in the low $60’s, but if I remember correctly it was about $45k… only a few bucks more than her T4R. Beautiful vehicle, tons of room and very luxurious. Didn’t drive it though… I can’t stand Koons! They will never get any business from us. But may be in the works for a day trip down to Jones in the near future… have them prep a T4R and a GHL for us so we can do a true side by side comparison and drive both. She likes my truck with the loud 3” pre-axle dump exhaust, lift kit and all, and wants something comparable but with her personality showing… just not sure a GHL will be the right starting point for that type of build.

Congratulations on the deposit!! Hopefully you guys can find exactly what you want and not have to wait for an order!!

And on the new Taco’s… well that’s another bag to unpack. Looks great, love the more spacious interior, love fitting 35’s without hacking it up, but… just not sold on these new Hybrid motors yet. I know all the stats, better MPG’s, more power, more untapped power with simpler bolt-on turbo mods and ECU flashes… just not sold on the Hybrid idea. I’m young but old school at heart. Been building cars since before I had a license and just never envisioned myself in a hybrid vehicle.

same, i had always thought 255s were the move until i tried a set and saw how sunk in they were.



I’m leaning towards the 275 because i believe with the 285 i will have to cut my cab mount, which i will probably have to do eventually, i just want to put it off lol. The tire option in 275 are relatively limited too

The new LC does look nice too. We started our search with my wife set on a T4R but then she heard they were possibly going to get an update and didn’t want the “old” style. She also sat in it and didn’t like it, never made it to the test drive.


After a lot of searching and me showing her most of the mid sized SUBs, we ended up on the GHL and test drove one and she loved it. They don’t have the one she wants on the lot and will have to wait till Feb for it to come in. That’s ok, with something as pricy as this, she’s getting exactly what she wants.

I shared this pic before, but here’s one with slightly bigger tires and a 2” lift compared to a stock one. Stole it from someone’s FB pic. Here’s the group, if you’re interested-

 

I sometimes regret getting 16” wheels too

I want to say, depending on your wheel offset and if you have aftermarket UCAs you might be able to clear 285s… not that me saying it helps any.

2.5” lift, super high caster camburg UCAs, i’ve trimmed the bottoms of my flares in the front wheel wells and gone to outside mounted mud flaps…she should clear anything under normal driving, is flex and stuffing that will require trimming. Even the 255s rubbed in the very too of the center of the rear wheel well at full tuck when you stuff em all the way up there
