You can add Carroll to that list as well, got a call about an hour ago that schools will be closing 2hrs early.

    This just in...this is YourArmy.

I am attending a virtual class, right? Via teams. They just cancelled the VIRTUAL CLASS due to....inclement weather. I'm not even making this up. bizarre.

Probably due to the instructor having issues getting into the office.

The instructor was also online in the previous class. Everyone is presenting/attending remotely. I understand the reasoning - closing operations means no govt work, etc. But i still find the irony of weather affecting virtual courses to be kinda funny.

Only thing that I can come up with for any type of logic in that is… possibly due to storm interruptions via power or internet loss.

Not always true. Signing a telework agreement indicates you will still work from the offsite location if possible in the event of inclement weather, etc.

Another reason could be some students of the class work solely on-site, and are unable to attend due to closure. Err, I reread your response. Maybe I’m an idiot, or maybe “remotely” in your case could indicate somewhere else in the country.

But agreed, government logic is funny.

it's always true when a base commander closes the base. We can't both 'work' and be on 'admin leave' due to the base (and the mission) being shut-down.

But we were all remote; mix of probably telework and viewing at our desks. When the base is closed for the day, it's shut down for most, except for key/essential, so people would have no telework to tele-into, unless they can operate singularly? I dunno. Anywho, we're dissecting it too much for the kinda-funny the situation presented :D

Morning all. Saw a lot of fb posts about roads flooding in Harford county last night.

I had to drive into work this morning and ended up driving through standing water part of rt 1 near Kennet Square, PA.

Weather was a non-issue around my part of Aberdeen. We saw some wind, and we have only a bit of spot-flooding on a couple streets.

    Morning all…

Faired the storm well in Carroll. Lots of rain and heavy gusts as expected, but no damage to report thankfully! Ride into work today was normal all the way into Frederick Co. Little debris here and there but that’s about it.

Hope everyone is OK from the storm. Didn't get much other than rain and some wind. Take care
