It’s nothing remarkable, just a new bridge.

Been in MD a year now in AA County. I’m looking for a shop that you guys trust with welding shock relocation brackets and suspension work of that variety. Who should I let touch my green queen?

 

I tag @Tonymontana anytime someone says anything about needing welding done. He’s not a shop though…

Hey folks.

 

TL;DR - I used traction boards to un-stick my car from some grass.



oh! And I got to use my traction boards last night at the new house. Because i'm old, i've been gently pulling the truck to the front of the house, on the grass, to unload and bring inside. Last night the Mrs. without thinking followed, as she had more stuff in the BMW. 6 feet onto the snow/wet grass she got it spinning.

Back in the day, about 9 years ago, just as Overlanding was in its infancy, neet things were "appropriately priced". On a whim I decided i wanted traction boards for my expedition (34" duratracs). So I hop online - to summit racing of all places - to buy a set.


I lived in Michigan then; on 10 acres.






My ex and I were separating around that time, and I about 10 months later I moved to Germany. Result? Those pretty TREDs were not used off-road until my trips in the Ozarks 2021-2022. But I used the hell out of them getting my ZeroTurn out on soft spots near the pond, or along some not-quite-read-to-mow areas of the yard.

And last night, they un-stuck my bmw from my front yard before it made too big of a mess. $105 very well spent, going on a decade ago.

Whatsup homies. Long time no see. Got back into a Toyota (again) back in June. Couldn’t be happier! GX is such a solid platform. Really miss my Tacoma but the extra cab space is nice.

Update, y'all. New estimate came in from Toyota. Repairs are up to ~$13k now. Left UCA and LCA, multiple knuckles, wheel bearing, and more all from that damn deer

That’s pretty crazy. Good thing you didn’t listen to us and use that first estimate money and do the things yourself

Does any of that make you suspicious?

 

Not really. As soon as I hit the deer, I knew something was real screwed up. The truck kept pulling to the sides, steering and cornering felt off, all I knew was that a load of damage was done. I wanted the mechanical assessed first but they had to inspect and remove body before they could get to mechanical. Again, this deer hit me hard enough to leave its fur between my tire and my rim

 

Okay, good. Just don't want you getting taken to the cleaners by folks who decide to find more damage, and all that.

 

My deductible is $500, everything else is on USAA lol

 

Righto - but the more they spend on you the more they may wanna raise rates. When I was shopping for a new policy, each company asked me if I'd made any claim whatsoever over some amount. In fact, one place called me a liar because I said I hadn't been in any accidents in the previous three years. They cited when my parked car was backed-into by another car. Called that an 'accident' in terms of me being involved. They always tryna get ya!

 

That’s also crazy… they expect you not to park your car outside??!
