You have your truck back and everything working well now?

 

Anyone got an extra grille? I still have the 2016 TRD OR ugly honeycomb pattern and it, well, doodoo.

 

Still looking at the MRRs? I might be able to unnecessarily upgrade my IM Foam Cells to a higher end (won’t be trading it in for at least 4 year). I can’t help myself seeing if there is a better suspension out there and the MRRs caught my attention with the neat 3 setting adjustments. They seem to have a longer rebuild, as there is no set recommendation like Kings. There is nothing wrong with the IM I have now, I just have trouble not changing things for no reason. Well they are too stiff for my likings.

I plan on taking out the sway bar to see if that changes the ride at all and lets the foam cells work as intended.

 

Sort of. I just don't know about spending 5k on a suspension. I'm not going to get this slide in camper. My gut says the 4 banger can't handle the weight.

 

I can’t offer any advice if the 4cy would be enough. But I understand the concern there.

Is 5K with installation? That seems pretty expensive. I was pricing it out and didn’t get to that price point.

 

@hyrule_trd actually 5500, but that's with a new leaf pack. I'm going to go with the IMS better on my budget. Yeah I'm used to under powered vehicles. My full-size van I had was a 6 cylinder way to small for how heavy it was.

 

Beautiful day out, so got some wrench time in…



…RIPP coil packs installed. Not nearly as bad of an install as I expected. Took about 45min or so. Let her idle in driveway for about 10 min, thankfully no CEL. Then ran it into town of a few errands. Can’t report any MPG’s gained, but does feel better. Throttle response is definitely improved. Seems to rev out smoother and faster as well. This is all via the “butt dyno”, so I can’t confirm any actual numbers. But so far, money well spent.

 

Now installing the DIR harness.

All your work makes me want to fix my hidden bumper light bar… one of the mounting bolts came out at some point…

It's back, having some front end issues. Not sure it it's related to the accident, or not. Thanks for asking

 

Glad to see it getting some use! I wish I could have used it but since the bumper I got would completely obscure it, I just have to find myself a reroute option

 

ok ok, I did it. I swapped a 30” hidden bumper light bar with the right 32” light bar. I had spacers for the 30” one but at some point the bot and nut came off and the bar kept facing down and was not properly mounted. Now, I’ve got the 32” one. It took me longer than it should have, spent 15 min looking for a washer then making one that would work.

Also sprayed rust reformer on my skid plate and a few other areas that I could see rust.

Hope you get it straightened out. What are the issues?

 

I'm not very mechanically inclined unfortunately, but I have a noise coming from the left front, seems to make a clicking sound when the steering wheel is turned back and forth. Noise comes and goes, so hard to pinpoint.

 

@Taco1004 thanks for the push, I forgot to say my negative terminal was pretty loose. It probably would have caused an issue sooner or later.

That sounds pretty odd. I don’t have any idea about that one.
