Damn! Great looking out. Unfortunately it's not just any veterans, it's specifically VEOA protected veterans, which means combat deployments, IIRC. I don't count, even with my 10 years in :-(

 

What did y'all get into over the weekend? I know it was a bit wet, but I borrowed a buddy's auger and managed to get about 8 fence posts put in and alligned solo

Prepping, painting and cleaning our family room, kitchen and a hallway… I don’t have any good before and after pictures.
Today after work is replacing light fixtures.

 

Nothing near as productive as you. Actually just few small things around house and a ton of relaxing in between. Still flew by way too quickly!!

May 15th will be 5 months with Boeing C17/ROR on Dover AFB for me.

While sometimes it's difficult to draw direct comparison to the specific requirements of any federal job, one can often focus on the verbs. For example, if the job calls for someone familiar with shooting a M60, yet you shot only M240s, there's a case it'd be essentially the same thing. If a job asks for experiences with XYZ database, but you're an expert in ABC database, focusing on the verbs - general database management and operations - would make it a match. I'd probably say something like "My job required expert knowledge of ABC database and other similar databases such as XYZ".

 

I worked because we lost a couple days during the week because we got 8 inches of snow Sunday Monday and into Tuesday. Course was clear of snow for a couple weeks but we got set back a couple weeks from opening. Saturday a contractor hit a hydrant and flooded a house and water ran down on the course mud debris everywhere. Bunker completely washed out fun times

 

I'll have to double check but I've never been active duty. I've been a reservist, and never deployed so I don't have the 180 consecutive days. I can't qualify unless I get 180 consecutive active, non-training days, so I keep my eye out for the Open to Public positions




For "Active Duty:"

(21) The term "active duty" means-

(A) full-time duty in the Armed Forces, other than active duty for training;

(B) full-time duty (other than for training purposes) as a commissioned officer of the Regular or Reserve Corps 1 of the Public Health Service (i) on or after July 29, 1945, or (ii) before that date under circumstances affording entitlement to "full military benefits" or (iii) at any time, for the purposes of chapter 13 of this title;

(C) full-time duty as a commissioned officer in the commissioned officer corps of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration or its predecessor organization the Coast and Geodetic Survey (i) on or after July 29, 1945, or (ii) before that date (I) while on transfer to one of the Armed Forces, or (II) while, in time of war or national emergency declared by the President, assigned to duty on a project for one of the Armed Forces in an area determined by the Secretary of Defense to be of immediate military hazard, or (III) in the Philippine Islands on December 7, 1941, and continuously in such islands thereafter, or (iii) at any time, for the purposes of chapter 13 of this title;

(D) service as a cadet at the United States Military, Air Force, or Coast Guard Academy, or as a midshipman at the United States Naval Academy; and

(E) authorized travel to or from such duty or service.

 

That would be the difference. Okay then. Trackin'.

 

Yeah, I couldn't remember if it was combat initially, but it was just deployment or activation in general. I qualified for post 9/11 and to transfwr it to my kid, but still not yet for VEOA, sadly.
