Saturday a big group of us are gonna ride SxS's & atvs down into town for their Memorial day car show & parade. Some good food vendors too. It's usually always a great turn out. My dog & i might hit the river Sunday and do some fishing. Hopefully the weather stays dry.

I finally found a new Tacoma TRD Pro in my price range. I messaged the seller, wife & I are gonna go check it out.

 

The Mayor of the mountain needs a nice staff car.

I was at koons in westminster on Wednesday getting a few oil filters. I had to sit in the new Taco in the showroom. I hadn't even squeezed past the steering wheel when the 1st sales guy literally started pestering me. I told him I just wanted to check it out I wasn't buying one. He wouldn't stop bugging me and asking questions that were none of his business, so as I started to squeeze out of the truck I let a big juicy fart rip. I bet the truck still smells like my ass!

Nothing against anyone who bought one, it just wasn't for me for too many reasons. I will say that the seating position felt better then my 2nd gen or the 1 3rd gen that I was able to test drive, but it still isn't there. My knees barely fit under the steering wheel, even with the wheel tilted all the way up.

 

Questions.

I have a 23 SR and want to change my halogen headlights to LED. Do I need to change the whole housing or I can just change the bulbs (low and high)? What’s the best LED that’s not going to melt anything? I drive to work at 3am so I’m trying to see if it will make it better. Also any recommendations?

and should I remove my air dam? My truck is for main transportation to work (12miles, 65mph max) and to 3rd Eye Comics once per week (35miles, 80mph max). Currently running on stock. Might do some off-roading this year when my friend found out I own a truck now. Wondering if it will really affect my gas mileage (350miles on my driving habit)

As per your questions… the headlight question is loaded and full of answers. The simplest “quick fix” is just to replace the bulbs themselves with LED bulbs. As per LED bulbs, there are way too many to mention that are great. I can tell you that I have the Morimotos in my Tacoma and they are absolutely amazing! Crazy bright, even with the yellow lenses I added. They aren’t cheap though, about $220 a pair. And you’ll need two pair to do the Hi and Lo beams. On the more wallet friendly side of options… I’m running Philips LED bulbs in my Camry. They aren’t as bright as the truck, but still way better than stock! And they are available on Amazon for about $45 a pair. Now, you will see about a million crazy named Chinese bulbs out there, claiming to be “2 million lumes”… stay away from that crap. You bought a good truck, give it good parts! If you would like a “full LED” conversion headlight, the OEM Toyotas will not disappoint, nor will the AlphaRex. But you are now over the $1k mark easily. Do yourself a favor and just stick with the names everyone knows like Diode Dynamics, Baja Designs, Morimoto, Philips, and many more.

As per the air damn… if you’re going to OffRoad it’ll most likely take itself off for you. Hopefully it doesn’t try to take anything with it. 1st mod I did as soon as I pulled in the drive was grab a 10mm socket and yank it… they just look stupid to me, but that’s my opinion.

 

The best would be OEM LED housing which is like 1-1200 for the set. Then you also need a harness that a TW member makes

I ordered some Cougar leds from Amazon and was very happy with them and never got flashed.

 

How’s about a pallet or two with some 5 gallon buckets mounted to the corners… we can Huck Finn it!!
