Morning ladies and gents. Thankful I didn’t walk outside into a convection oven again this morning lol

 

Happy Friday Jr.

 

I’m taking off tomorrow. Taking wife and kid to a concert in Philly tomorrow night the headed to Twin Grove PA and Rausch Creek early am on Saturday. Off-roading most the day on Saturday and spending the night in a cabin at Twin Grove. Should be fun. Temps will be just over 80° and a little rain.

 

My wife ordered me this fishing kayak. She got it during the Amazon Prime Days sale for $679 with free shipping.

That is a good deal on a yak that will serve you well in your area. I have 2 Wilderness Systems Tarpons set up for fishing. The Tarpons are fast but too narrow to stand in or to be really stable in a river setting like you have. Have fun fishing.

 

I watched many YouTube videos on pros & cons of different make kayaks. After researching I was torn between this Pelican and a Jackson. The Jackson was $1099, Pelican sale price was almost half the cost so that made the choice for me. Pelican has a 375lb weight capacity, 34" wide for stability & only weighs 65 pounds. I also like the open floor plan and the side handles make it easier for 1 person to transport. It should be a fun toy here on the mountain.

 

I told my wife I should try and get a remote only job and move out to WV. She could homeschool our son and all be happier out there

besides my son losing all his friends here

 

Downsizing our life, selling our Baltimore house, paying off the cabin and moving to WV was definitely a decision we don't regret. My wife works remote from the cabin for the same Maryland company that she worked for for 13 years when we lived in Baltimore. And fortunately we live close enough to Md that I was able to get a job for a Md company. Don't get me wrong I still took a big paycut when I made the move to WV and changed careers but I'm still making a Md wage. With no more mortgages (I was paying 3 mortgages) and the low cost of WV living you can still live happily & comfortable even with a paycut.

Some interesting dialogue about moving out of MD--Congrats on the Kayak...looks like a sweet deal.

Living in Delaware in the same home since 2006; I can say, our family enjoys it...well, at least I do. lol

We are in our retirement house at the moment but family (wife) wants to downsize and move north one day...north Delaware that is!

We are far enough away from major cities but close enough to travel to them...and of course, we have Delaware Beaches!!!

 

My uncle & aunt retired to Delaware from Baltimore. They live on a large canal with a boat lift, they love it there.

LSD is alive and well! lol

Our kids live a good distance from us...and they visit almost every weekend.

Eldest drives from Middle River, MD which is about 100 miles taking the 95 and coming down the 1.

Youngest lives near Wilmington, DE and has a shorter drive.

That's why they want us to move closer north...and wife wants less house to clean. lol

My coworker/entomologist said it's a Water Bug...lol!
