I work in Frederick and there’s a dealership called Kratz Customs… they buy slightly used vehicles, probably less than 30k miles, and lift everything. Mostly 4-6” lifts on American vehicles… Chevy, Jeep, Dodge, Ford… you get the picture. But everything they sell has giant MT’s on them. I see these giant trucks and SUV’s everywhere out there and never once seen one with dirt on it. And I know these people are paying $80k if not more for something just for looking “country”… lol!!

 

That’s a pretty cool premise for a business. I have to admit that I do love looking at the big diesels with the silly mud tires. I just could never afford one and they’re not practical for all the driving I do haha

 

My KO2 s are 65/65/17 so that's what 31?32? Would even a two inch lift look odd with those? But yeah and extra inch.. in the tires.. would be awesome

 

Im honestly not sure they are practical for any type of driving… lol. Too long to go in woods, you’d run every tree. Mud tires ain’t designed for pavement queens. Most are too shiny and expensive to be mud boggers. And those cheap shocks aren’t designed to haul a 20k pound trailer. So what’s the purpose other than just “posing”? I guess they are good to show other people you’ve got money but not a brain cell of what to do with it.

 

I don’t think a 2” would look bad at all with 32’s. I mean I have 3” with 33’s… in theory, that’s the same ratio of lift-to-tire… right?

 

lol yeah I feel like they are nice to look at and that’s about it. They really do seem like they’d be bad at everything practical and maybe only good at truck shows.

One of my favorite things about my truck is that it’s built enough to go out on trails but also can still fit in parking garages when I go into cities in far away places.

However, if I had an endless amount of money I could see myself building something like this:



Definitely no roof basket with double light bars though

 

That’s a truck I like and built for purpose. Definitely an outback/desert rig. Personally, can’t rate on the basket, but double light bars is not my style.

Was close to getting it on but a little voice inside said I should let try this…

I was using hooks already in the ceiling but with the amount they started moving and looking into it more, they were not in the studs. Rather than have it fall on my truck while driving under it I’m going to wait a bit.

Just need it not to rain too.

 

That would also make an excellent booby trap for anyone who tries to break into your garage lol
