Where'd you order the quick fists from? looks like i'll be needing a set for a new fire extinguisher mount. :( cheap plastic strap that came with teh extinguisher broke when I hit a pothole and it discharged in my bed. lol

Yea thanks for the heads up. I was planning on using a broom and vacuum anyways, but now I'll make sure to get to it before it rains since it's under my toolbox too and I don't want it to cement the box to the bed.. Haha

One of my contractor buddies has a huge air compressor on his f350 so maybe I'll just blow it all out if I see him tomorrow.

Yeah, i found out the hard way. one night a while back someone broke into the bus lot that my dad works for and discharged the contents of the fire extinguishers all over the bus and into the AC vents and everything. bus company hosed it out and it turned into cement on them. even now there are still pieces of the stuff left and this happened over a year ago.

Standard powerless, but with a bare lock cylinder that will code to my ignition key when i insert it and rotate it back and forth a few times.

I'm going with a trifold and a pop&lock. Once the trifold is clamped and the tailgate is locked, only way to get in is to cut the vinyl cover.

Not until the frame fades away to the point of no repair I start a welding class in 2 weeks so that may not happen may not be street worthy then but I see a sas'ed truggy in it's future

yeah, i was part of the cleanup crew for that... not only was solid chunks of the stuff left, but the first time we turned the AC back on, we almost choked to death on the cloud of dust that came out..... my dad also mentioned that he still gets the occasional puff of dust from the AC vents if he hits a bump, that should give you an idea of how much of a bitch that stuff is to clean up. IMO Co2 FTMFW

got the most recent update from work. current plan is that i'll fly up to MD on the 3rd, and stay here for good :) hoping this plan holds.

once i get all of my stuff unpacked and set up, i can make you a metal quick release mount. a lot of off road race shops sell them, but i thought the $100+ pricetag was way too much, so i started making a simpler, cheaper, but equally as effective version.

mounted them on a couple of my racks, and can also build them to bolt right up to the bed rails with t-slot nuts.

the bracket is universal fit. all you have to do it get the proper size host clamps to secure the extinguisher to the quick release portion.

found a better picture of the most recent one on my current rack
    [IMG]

and here is what version 1.0 looked like a few years ago. so all you need are two hose clamps to secure it to the removable mount.
